Can someone please provide me with a guide on how to put my DE files on a disc?

I have had my files for the Despecialized Editions on my laptop for about a year now, and I have never figured out how to put them on a disc. I have tried simply burning them to blank DVD’s and that didn’t work, so I am left clueless. They are MKV files. I have heard the whole “use img burn”, but no guide on how to actually do it. I would prefer to put them on DVD’s as it is more cost effective for me, but i am willing to try a Blu Ray version, I do not currently have a Blu Ray player other than my Xbox One, and do not have a BR Burner. I’m not the most tech smart person when it comes to this. but I really want to get this done, if any one could please help me through this, I would really appreciate it.

May the Shwarts be with you!

Hey guys! I’m in exactly the same position. Only recently discovered the Harmy Project and downloaded Episode IV this week as a full film. I absolutely LOVED watching it with my young son on our Mac but he now wants to see it on the TV with all the sound. We only have an old DVD player and a SuperDrive. I’m really confused with terms like AVCHD, .MTV etc.
I plan to buy a Blu Ray Player with AVCHD compatibility and then burn the film onto a BD using something like Toast or similar. Is this correct? My knowledge of Blu Ray formatting is completely absent so any guidance you can give me and the original author would be great. Thanks.
