I would loathe a conflicted postmortem Anakin. It would totally betray ROTJ, in a sharp and specific way, as opposed to the general way in which TFA’s plot did.
Vader was nearly fully cemented in the Dark Side for two decades. One good act isn’t going to wash all that darkness away.
