First off, that’s the type of lucid discussion that sets us apart. Well done, sir. I don’t have a strong thought one way or another because I’m unfamiliar with the PT. That said, the portion of your statement I’ve quoted is very relevant to my Star Wars world. With Rogue One far and away being the adult Star Wars film I’ve always wanted, it relieved me of my last bit of anger over Lucas’ decades of lying.

The suppression of Star Wars77 no longer being the last thing I cared about has made that very suppression not sting as much, to use your term.

but also remember, this is a bubble. There’ve always been lots of people who loved the prequels even back then.

The bubble is what I think keeps us from stepping away at times. We’re emotionally invested in a way casual fans are not. I sometimes have to remind myself that Star Wars77 is A movie, not THE movie.

Besides, Rogue One is SO much better. 😉
