I’ll give the Canadians this: Ending a statement with “Eh?” is a fantastic conversation device.
I mean, you could say to someone outside the venue: “Wow! That was a great show!” and that’d be the end of it. BUT, if you say “Wow! That was a great show, eh!?”, they have to respond, or be an asshole. I met a buncha Canadians at a music festival in 2000 and have used this device ever since.
I’m glad you like to use ‘eh’. Yeah, music festivals are great places to meet people from all over the world.
