Well I’m having to start over again. I’ve been using womble to do the editing, but I’m going to have to leave it behind. I hate to do that because I love wombles extremely user friendly interface and I was able to make the seamless cuts I needed… Theoretically. The reason I’m giving up on it is because no matter what I do there is a very audible “pop” at cut points. It’s infuriating. Even if the fades and everything are set up to be seamless there’s still a big pop in the middle of the transition and while it doesn’t happen all the time when it does happen nothing I do will fix it. I hate it because I love wombles interface. So unless anybody knows a fix for that, I’m trying to get the hang of Adobe premiere. It’s a whole different world and I’m still trying to get the hang of it.

Yes but once you do, you will be a whole lot better off. I would also recommend you transcode all of your project footage to a non-lossey interm format. Will make you life a lot better. cc 2015 and 2017 support cineform . I highly recommend you start there. CC 2015 also supports DD multi channel audio support.

Well even womble supported 5.1 so I’m not worried about that. I will probably edit in 5.1 using six mono wavs sourced from the dts track, then export as 640 kbps DD ac3. (I think that would have less quality loss than using DD as a starting point.
