Since I’ve had my DVD of Rogue One, I’ve watched it whenever the mood struck. I’ve not made any secret of the fact that it’s my favorite Star Wars film of all (by far) or why. To date, I’ve seen it 13 times. I wanted to watch it this weekend and nearly put it in Friday evening.
I decided instead to go a different route and make it a sort of scheduled event. Instead of finding the time or waiting until I had the time, I decided to schedule the time. So with Summer starting and Star Wars Day last week, I decided to make this my Rogue Summer. I’ll be watching it every Sunday night this summer. That will temper my desire to over do it. This will be a sort of revisit of 1977, which was also the last time I had a deep emotional connection to a Star Wars film.
As the weekend was winding down, I put on my Rogue One socks, got my Death Star ice cube out of the freezer, poured myself a vodka with a splash of cranberry, and settled in for the start of Rogue Summer.
