They even had some groups buy out the entire Theater, then ask for a refund, to ensure the seats cannot be purchased again.

Wow, sure that stops people from seeing the film but it certainly gives the box office a boost haha!

Not if they ask for a refund, so the movie doesn’t make the actual money, and doesn’t get reported to the Box Office.

Gosh, I didn’t read that properly!

I thought the same thing when I first heard what they did. Then I found out the people were getting refunds.

Spider Baby (1967) - Solid black horror/comedy. Nice writing, interesting characters, fun movie all around.

Hmmm, sounds interesting, might have to check it out.

No Country for Old Men (2007) - Loved the lack of dialog and thought the scenes between Brolin and Bardem were incredible but I’m not sure if the film landed thematically. It seemed like they were going for a Wild Bunch esque “too old for this; life is passing me by” sort of deal but it never really clicked with me. Regardless the cat and mouse game was riveting.

Yeah, it was great movie, especially the cat and mouse game between Brolin & Bardem. Bardem was a clever, philosophical killer.
