oh come on. its not that bad. I wouldn't rate it a classic, or anywhere near the level of Star Wars, but it is still worth seeing. At least one time anyway.

Titanic is like Rocky. It's pure crap, when you look closer, but it's kinda fun if you ignore the major character (stalone's or caprio's), and both won undeserved oscars.

All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. Just found this, thought it might be of interest:

you've too far Ricarleite! I feel it is my duty as a philly area native to inform that Rocky is a great movie. It is the story of a man wishing to prove to himself and others that he is just not another bum from the street, not just another nobody. It is the Ultimate underdog story. He showed even though he didn't win the fight he was still a winner. It is also a romance story between Rocky and Adrian. It is bar none the best boxing movie ever made. If you ask me Stalone gave the performance of his career(I'll agree that is not saying much for Stalone is not a great actor). It has a great score as well. It's Oscar is definitely well deserved. comparing Titanic to Rocky is like comparing a hamburger to Prime Rib. Say what you will about the sequels(they stink), but the first one is a classic. And if you insult it again, I may just have do more to you than slap you with a fish.

I'm not a Philly native and I've only visited the city once, but I agree completely with Warbler... Rocky is not pure crap nor should it be equated to Titanic. These are completely different movies. Rocky is one of the best "little man takes on the big man" movies of all time. Titanic was just a bastardization of historical fact. The only thing that Rocky really has going against it are its sequels (although I do enjoy several of them, the fact that there are so many is disturbing) and Talia Shire. Never did like her.

5, with Stallone working on writing a sixth. Ideally it will never get past the writing stage.

That's what I got out of Bowling For Columbine when I finally saw it last week. The differences between the US and Canada were unsettling. It really frustrated me to be an American and realizing yet again that, as loudly as I raise my cries against the way the system is these days, not enough others were cry out as well, so my odds of seeing change are so slim.

Personally, I'd like to see less of a focus on property rights; the Canadian constitution does not protect property rights like the US one does, and I think that's a reflection of the Canadian attitude towards property, unless you live in the West (as I do).

jimbo, I think of you and I can't help but think of Mike Teevee in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Those who have seen it will know exactly what I'm talking about.

That was good, Gun. Maybe we can get Jimbo cast in the remake?

I have just seen Farenheit 9/11, unfortunally it was a crappy low-res movie-theater copy that I downloaded, because I really wanted to see it, and it's taking too long for it to become comercially available over here. Don't worry, I'll see it in theaters when it gets here - if I'm still alive by then. What bothered me is that the version I've seen appeared to be a rough cut. I could clearly notice some of the soundtrack was missing, and some scenes I've seen in the trailer were not in the cut I've seen, such as any scene regarding the patriotic act. Now, you guys have seen it, are those scenes in the movie, or do I have a rare rough cut copy of the movie?

About the movie - or at least about what I've seen: well, Moore could have approached the stealing of the election more, so that people who hasn't read "stupid white people", or people who dosen't know about it can understand what happened. He should have shown a little bit more of the reconstruction of Iraq plot, and the whole history of Halliburton during the Gulf War. Oh well.

By the way, here's my small view of things that have happened sorrounding the whole middle east situation in the past ~20 years. I am not making this up, as you all know it to be true. And I'd like to see any conservatives here trying to convince me that being a liberal is being evil (btw I don't consider me a liberal, I'm more like an anarchist evangelist wannabe):

Hey, do you guys remember what the Iran-Contras thing was all about? Well, there was this war between Saddan and the Ayatolah (cant spell that), and for some reason the US sold weapons for both sides. Why? Oh, and not only weapons such as rifles or pistols, there were chemical weapons involved too. And inocent people died, and rich people in the US got richer, and then Reagan said "I don't remember" about 50 times when asked about it, but hey, it was the 80s, and people were more concerned with issues like He-Man and Alf.

Oh, and the Bin Ladin family, and some good saudi arabia investors were investing big money on the people who run the country now, and guess what? Those same investors, such as the Bin Ladens, are using some secret weapon called fundemantalism to wash their young peoples minds, so they hijack airplanes and crash it into buildings, and they explode themselves into trains, and into american troops. At the same time, on the other side of the ocean, the powerful people running the country (called Lockheed, Carlyle, Halliburton...) are using some secret weapon called Fox News to wash their young peoples minds, so they go to countries they can't spell the names of, and kill some people and liberate them, so they could build some oil pipes, and gasedute pipes, and all that stuff.

Hmn, wait a minute. So why is america so rich? Why are you people working so hard everyday of your lifes? So you can have some money for yourselves, so you can all buy Alf and He-man DVD sets and be nostalgic about the 80s, and at the same time, pay some taxes. Now, 450 million people all paying taxes every single day, that generates a whole lot of money, and it's all being used to protect the country from the other brain-washed people, the evil doers, who are being controled by the people who invest get their investment money on the companies who protect you... Wheeh, that was complicated, wasn't it?

Ok, so basically: america wants you all to work and generate all that money that the government will collect and give to companies that are going to rebuild Iraq and profit from terrorism and wars. And all those billions of dollars are going to the people who generate the wars: your government, and the "evil doers". Am I wrong?

I don't know. I still believe Iraq is better off without Saddam. I still beleive democracy is the best way for Iraq to go. Was that the real reason Bush took us to war? I don't know. I sure part of it was greed and for his papa. I doubt Fox is brainwashing people through, that just sounds a little far fetched. I hope Lockheed isn't in on some sort of conspiracy, I have a family member who works there and I'd hate to think that he was involved in it. In spite of everything, I still believe in the American way of life. And I am still proud to be an American. I wish the rest of the world didn't hate us thought.

Btw I don't think He-man and Alf are out on DVD yet, and I'm sure that not everyone is saving money just to buy them. They weren't that good.

Heard something good about the movie. Apparently a man from west Michigan is in Fahrenheit 9/11 and is pissed off. His exact words were "If he was near me Id ring his neck". Can't say I wouldn't do the same to that jerk. Apparently the man was selling disaster equitment and Moore potrade him as taking advantage of terrorist attacks. He is considering taking legal action against Moore. I hope he does and gets what he deserves from that fat ass. As Gollum once said "Your a liar and a theif". Moores movies are a series of truth stretches, misinterpertations, Liberal propaganda, and often downright lies.
