I doubt that Disney or Lucasfilm would ever release Mike Verta’s project.
How do you know?
I’m not aware of a major studio ever accepting something like that, especially since they have access to much better material and a whole department of people to work on it, let alone releasing it.
Actually, now that I think about it, didn’t he intend it to be a proof of concept rather than a finished product for them to release to the public?
He had said something along the lines of if they ever wanted to release it, he’d want to see what he could pull from sources they have in the archives (original negative, separation masters, etc.)
