UPDATE
OK, the project was halted for a while, but it’s not dead, at the contrary!
The project situation:
- I have now a much powerful computer; it should still be set up properly, hope it will be ready in few days; this means I could work on this project at a much faster rate, restoring a scene will take hours, not days (hopefully…)
- meanwhile I moved on some other projects, and learned beneficial techniques that I think could be used here as well
- an important project maker agrees that his work could be used for this very project (will disclose who he is at the right time); that would raise the quality of some shots/scenes a lot, and the overall importance as well
- the color grading: EP 7 is OK, EP 1, 2, 3 need just a small touch to get rid of the pink tint, done; EP 4, 5, 6 are the problems… we should decide which grading to use, and stick with it… so, GOUT? 1997 SE? BD “as is”? RaiTre? Technicolor?
- colorization of the b&w scene is important; few members would like to help, I’m waiting to receive test clips to post here and hear comments about them
- last thing: I must admit I underestimated the proportions of this project… luckily some precious members helped me a lot (thanks to all, you know who you are); still, just few things are done… so, any kind of help, from anyone, is really appreciated!
