If you’ve seen that interview, JJ is clearly joking (as he often does). Anyway, LFL’s new canon policy is pretty hardline and doesn’t and hasn’t allowed for people to randomly canonize old works (despite what Wikipedia might hope).
Still, canon is what you make of it. If you feel like the HS should be canon, go for it! Nothing wrong with personally seeing it that way. But the chances it is officially canon is very slim to almost definitely one. Not that any of that matters for Frink’s edit. And I have to say, I’m with him. HS? No thanks.
