That has what exactly to do with the Holiday Special? It is supposed to still be canon, and I stand by that until you provide proof other than various fan writings having been invalidated as we all know. Obviously we shouldn’t keep on that here, unless you have some concise example to offer.

Did you read that article? LFL’s new approach has always been very clear. New canon = episodes I-VI and TCW plus anything made from 2014 on. Where is exactly does the HS fit in there? I’d love to know.

Yes, I can and did read, it said it includes those things, not limited solely to them. I said, if you can come back with a concise example that mentions the Holiday Special specifically as part of the EU that got thrown out, that would be acceptable. If you just have speculation without much to back it up, let’s not muck up Frink’s Ridiculous thread with it.

While Lucasfilm always strived to keep the stories created for the EU consistent with our film and television content as well as internally consistent, Lucas always made it clear that he was not beholden to the EU. He set the films he created as the canon. This includes the six Star Wars episodes, and the many hours of content he developed and produced in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. These stories are the immovable objects of Star Wars history, the characters and events to which all other tales must align.

It said included and the very clear implication was that it was limited solely to them, and nothing they’ve said or done since then has suggested otherwise.

There is literally no reason at all to think that when they said this that they meant “these things are canon and the other stuff is not, except maybe the Holiday Special because everyone loves that one, right?” I honestly cannot fathom how you think a complete wiping of the EU which explicitly ditches all books, comics, video games, TV shows (besides TCW, as stated), and TV movies wouldn’t include ditching the Holiday Special.

Though I can’t find a concise “Holiday Special isn’t canon” answer offhand, I don’t see why I would need to. Common sense and everything we know about the EU wipe is on my side.
