I like those. Good and simple, no extra information.

Here we go with my first post. So I decided I wanted to make some new bluray sized covers for my discs and wanted to make them feel like the VHSA tapes I had as a kid.  So I made these:

Then once I had my template all set up I decided, what the hell, let’s make everyone look better.

These look great. Are the dimensions for the criterion blu ray cases or the regular blu ray?

It’s been a while since I posted. i am trying to find the artwork for the cases in the video linked below. I ran across this the other day and just loved what I saw. I am sure they must be linked here, somewhere. But I ain’t finding them.

Thanks and Happy new Year.

You’ll want the ronwlim artwork set. I believe he put everything together into a download link many pages back.

I actually created a thread for all my covers here:

Just finished up a draft of my box set. Used gloss photo paper with spray adhesive to attach to thicker card stock for the box.

Did you make the box or did you modify an already existing one?

I’m finishing up the disc labels today and then I can post the whole thing - box art, case inserts, and disc labels. You will need to modify them heavily for the different size of a DVD case.

this is exactly what I am looking for to use on 14mm and 17mm criterion cases. If not I may just go along with standard blu ray cases

I put together a second box for my silver screen / grindhouse set - these use 14mm cases so I had to change the dimensions of my box.

So now I have one box for Despecialized (films only) and one box for the 35mm scans. Next will be a box for the full ten disc set by njvc (probably three 3-disc cases plus one 1-disc case).

Bringing this query to the photoshoppin’ community here because my PMs to the original creators have apparently fallen on deaf ears. Over in the thread for njvc’s custom blu-ray Despecialized set in the Preservations section, user JMoomer created some very beautiful case inserts for all three films and disc labels for ANH. User SteveE then created labels for the other two films, and I was able to assemble the set using my new printer. The problem, however, is that JMoomer included Star Wars Revisited as disc 3 of his ANH set instead of njvc’s documentaries disc, and SteveE didn’t make ANH labels because JMoomer had already done it. I reached out to both of them to see if they wouldn’t mind whipping up a quick documentaries label to round out the set, but that was more than a month ago and I’ve gotten no reply from either. Would anyone here mind throwing something together for the docs disc to match these?

If anyone does, I’d ask you not to use the McQuarrie painting of the Falcon in the hangar at Mos Eisley because I printed that on the inside of the case. I’d be all kinds of grateful if someone would take a crack at this, as the one blank disc staring out whenever I open the case is kind of a bummer.

Working on a set for the Despecialized Blu-ray set I’m putting together. I’m trying to go simple. I’ve used quite a few posts in here for inspiration! Thank you all for the great work, and for sharing it with everyone. When I’m done of course I’ll make the high-res versions for anyone who might care.

ROJ coming next!

Those are completely gorgeous, my friend. Can’t wait for ROTJ! And for the high-res versions! Excellent work.

Here’s what I whipped up for my third disc label for that set because I ran into the exact same issue you encountered!

Man, that looks great. Since the people who made the disc art aren’t responding, do you think maybe you’d be able to make 2 disc set versions of those labels for people who went the 50gb route(For SW the film and special features on disc 1 and documentaries on disc 2, for ESB the same, for RotJ the same on disc 1 and the RotJ and the SW Trilogy Documentaries on Disc 2)?

It’s a great label and I’ll probably end up using it, but I’d hoped for something with another McQuarrie concept painting for consistency’s sake (more for consistency with SteveE’s labels for the other two than JMoomer’s original ANH set; I realize the poster sketch was his choice for SW Revisited).

I can do that - I was just using what was in that “alternate feature” label for that one. Give me a day or two. For all my covers and artwork lately I’ve been very heavy on the concept artwork. Love McQuarrie’s stuff!!!

Whipped this up today out of boredom. I kind of like it. I might print it and use it for njvc’s set.

Why would you have one for Despecialized and another for njvc, seeing as njvc’s set is the Despecialized editions just with bonus features and menus? Perhaps there is a difference I’m not aware of.

Also, I’m curious as to what covers you used for the Grindhouse ESB and ROTJ discs. Thanks.

My goal is to have three sets: 1) Just the Despecialized movies, 2) the silver screen / grindhouse versions, and 3) the full NJVC ten-disc set. It’s just what I have in my mind as my projects. No real reason, but I like having the simple three-disc despecialized trilogy on its own.

For the Grindhouse ROJ I made my own cover. The Grindhouse ESB I used one I found that has a lighter cover with a millennium falcon on the cover. If you google for “grindhouse esb cover” and look for images it’ll show up.

JEDIT: Here is the ROJ grindhouse cover I made:
