Might be an unpopular opinion, but I don’t think these edits are near the quality of other options avaible.
I think your forgetting all those other people who don’t prefer drastic changes. Remeber that a large majority of people loved TFA even with its rehashed moments. It’s all about familiarity. Most people want some thing that is familiar, but new. Drastically changing narratives can have a worse impact on many viewers.
