Well we already know that, because the camera that was used was a Sony CineAlta HDW-F900. But who knows how much a good upscaling algorithm with a given amount of processing power can get out of that? I’m sure that combined with less DVNR, a UHD release will be justified.
Someone mentioned that Resident Evil was also filmed at 2k and gets a 4k release. I’m curious to see how it will compare to the old Blu-Ray release.

That would be nice, but I doubt it. I think I remember seeing a documentation where ILM explained that they had to recover CGI elements from Episode I for II or III and they said that it was a big mess, too many file versions and they couldn’t find the right ones. Let’s hope they were more careful with the Episode II and III elements…
