I would love to watch this edit. Will someone please invite me to MySpleen so I can enjoy it as well.

Also, the wife and I are watching your prequel trilogy as we speak. We just finished Cloak of Deception. It was very enjoyable.

I really enjoyed your prequel edits and I still really want to watch this. If someone would pm a link, torrent, or a myspleen invite, I would be very appreciative.

Check your PM’s, in case Hal’s post was taken advantage of by another community member.

I unfortunately hadn’t checked back to see if he responded until now, so someone else may have taken advantage of the invite. However, another member graciously sent me an invite as well. I just want to say how grateful I am for it. Not only am I a fan of Hal’s work, but I’ve been wanting a MySpleen invite for non-Star Wars reasons as well. Thanks for everything and by the way, I’m watching this with my children right now.

Hey Hal,

So after watching Rogue One, I decided to re-watch Labyrinth of Evil, and the 9000 Series of New Hope. Let me just say that I have never been so satisfied with how cohesive everything is! Things that I thought might jeopardize the continuity between the three films isn’t an issue at all! The whole thing flows very nicely and I love the reworked sounds on Ep III and the preservation of some of the “good” CGI on New Hope.

Thank you so much for your hard work, your versions of these films are my standard for this franchise.

Wow, thanks very much. I’ll do the rest of the OT (and redo ANH) once things look temporarily stable for source material.

Fantastic news! I can’t wait.

So, my favorite Star Wars marathon now is the Machete order

Star Wars A New Hope Revisited (Adywan)
Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back Revisited (Adywan)
Star Wars Approaching Storm (hal9000)
Star Wars Labyrinth of Evil (hal9000)
Star Wars Return of the Jedi a Q2 edit (similar to the despecialized)
Star Wars The Force Awakens Restructured (hal9000)

I have not been glued to the screen and binged movies this quickly in a very long time. Currently I am creating the highest quality Blu-ray disk set of all of these, while still waiting on Adywan to re-do his edits with HD. I will need to check out hal9000’s version of ANH. I am still looking for edits of Rogue One and The Last Jedi which will fit with my style of enjoyment - some things I wouldn’t want cut from edits are cut while other things are. Fingers crossed for hal9000 versions of those!

I know this is an older thread I found while browsing for something else… #sorrynotsorry lol

Any updates on Empire and Jedi (9000 Series)?

I’d like to do ESB and ROTJ (and redo ANH) someday, but I would rather wait for some semi-definitive video sources. The bottom line for me is that, even if I did all that, I would still just want to watch the original versions anyway.
If I revisit this in the future, I would love to get together some fine people like we did for TFA:R and do some visual FX work to make things work out right. For example, being able to use the new sandcrawler establishing shot and CGI dewback in the background while maintaining sync with the OOT. As it is, I cannot do that, and it ends up feeling sloppy.

The Special Edition changes are just such a goddamn mess, and with only being able to pick between complete shots, the end result is still something I wouldn’t really want to watch.
So, maybe someday…

My stance on revising fan edits.
