I liked Rogue One a lot, more so than TFA. Some random thoughts:
-Che Gueva… err, Saw Gerrera is called an extremist but doesn’t do anything worse than the rebels in the OT, or the Jedi in the PT. No, the tentacle monster doesn’t count.
-The comedy mostly worked.
-I don’t think the fanservice/nostalgia factor was as excesive as others suggested.
-I liked how Tarkin basically took the Death Star for himself.
-CGI Tarkin fooled me. Cartoon Leia did not.
-I could have done without Vader.
-“Don’t choke on your aspirations” is an objectively stupid line.
-Connects beautifully with ANH… only in a clinical B follows A manner. I will get into that when I can properly express it.
-As far as Edwards’ filmography goes, this is much better than Godzilla, but nowhere as interesting as Monsters.
