I won't rage out via text like some people possibly have, but i would only ask this to Mr. Lucas; Was it not us who made this the creation you felt the need to alter, or add to in the first place? If this movie was a complete flop like half the world thought upon it's debut in theaters, Would you still add to it for the sake of your own vision, regardless of losing millions of dollars in the process, or would you have let it die and chalk that up as a loss? a smart business man like yourself at the time surely would cut you're losses, i believe. Simply put, we admire you persisting in bringing it closer to the vision you want to achieve, but you wouldn't gave it another bat of the lash, had it not been for us. At least give us the original to appreciate your work more. |
Kymberly Kiely | California, United states | July 8, 2012 | Please bring the original back! 3
Jay Spendlove | California, United States of America | July 8, 2012 | I totally respect Mr. Lucas' desire to make altered versions of his films, because over 30 years you would probably see little things here and there that you want to change or add to. But, we as fans do deserve to see the latest version and the original theatrical version side by side in the highest quality possible (Blu-Ray).

Cory Payne | California, United States | July 11, 2012 | All Star Wars fans deserve the opportunity to view these films in there original theatrical nature. Old and new fans should experience why and/or be reminded of why we fell in love with these films in the first place. Long live the original trilogy!

Andrew Zehrung | WA, USA | July 11, 2012 | It is so disappointing that fans cannot get the original trilogy theatrical versions. That was my Star Wars! The great Star Wars! Hear our cry!
David Machnicky | Alberta, Canada | July 11, 2012 | George, please allow those of us who saw Star Wars 10 times in the 70's, the opportunity to relive those days by releasing restored originals !
David Neal | TX, US | July 13, 2012 | I don't "sign" this to be funny, hipster, pseudo-retro, or some kind of band wagoner. I just want to see the movies, the memories of which, to this day in a 39 year old body make me feel like a kid again. Pure magic. I can't even watch the re-cuts. It makes me sad.
Dan Fontaine | MA, USA | July 13, 2012 | Both Theatrical and Special Edition Versions on Blu-Ray

Jonathan Anderson | New South Wales, Australia | July 13, 2012 | The original theatrical releases will forever hold a special place in my heart. I have searched near and far for the original VHS releases, so that I can continue to enjoy the Star Wars that I know and love. The Star Wars that you gave in the special editions lacks the magic and wonder of the original releases, and is not something I would wish to show my children. It would be a waste were I to show them something that wasn't magical.

Jesse Black | Kansas, United States | July 14, 2012 | When I first saw Star Wars Episode 4, it was the remastered version. My dad didn't know that I saw it yet, and he loved Star Wars, so he went out and got the vhs box set of the original trilogy. We watched it together and... it was the best moment that I ever had with my dad because it was just... it was just great, and after the movie we went outside and we had lightsaber fights with sticks. So now years afterword I can't find any of the original versions. Soooooooo ya. I know you're not gonna, but please George Lucas, re-release the originals.

Jacob Granata | South Carolina, United States | July 17, 2012 | If the original versions of the first Star Wars trilogy are not restored the world won't end, the galaxy will still spin, and the universe will continue on as it always has, but humanity will have lost a treasured piece of history that inspired the entire world. Please, Mr. Lucas, give us Star Wars as it once was, as you once did.
