5211 Matthew Slanaker Ohio, United States May 22, 2012 Mr. Lucas, you faced so many trials and hardships when making the original films, but you overcame those obstacles through ingenuity and creativity and made one of the most successful franchises of all time. Please consider releasing them the way they were. As a kid when I saw these films for the first time I wasn't thinking that some of the effects were a little dated. I was thinking about how mind blowing the movies were and how much I was absolutely obsessed with them. They made me the creative soul I am today.

5221 Molly DeMarco MA, US May 23, 2012 In 1988 you testified before Congress:
"People who alter or destroy works of art and our cultural heritage for profit or as an exercise of power are barbarians, and if the laws of the United States continue to condone this behavior, history will surely classify us as a barbaric society. In the future it will become even easier for old negatives to become lost and be 'replaced' by new altered negatives. This would be a great loss to our society.…Attention should be paid to the interest of those who are yet unborn, who should be able to see this generation as it saw itself, and the past generation as it saw itself."

While your industry was exempted from the Berne Treaty, your words ring equally true for it. The Special Edition made a valuable contribution to our cultural heritage. But our cultural history must be preserved, and we implore you to preserve the heritage of the original Trilogy, if not for us, for the sake of "those who are yet unborn."
5222 Andreas Kuersten CA, USA May 23, 2012 I would love to get a copy of the originals.

5225 Jaime Villacorta CA, 91345 May 23, 2012 Please let Mr. Lucas know the obvious fact that he'll make ridiculous amounts of money for releasing his "unfinished" versions.

5233 Bill Lott SC, United States May 24, 2012 Mr. Lucas,
One day I want to be able to share with my children the same Star Wars magic that I experienced. Please give us the original versions of these films alongside the enhanced versions. You testified before Congress to prevent black and white movies from being altered. Please find it in your heart to understand that so many fans of your wonderful movies feel the same way you once did. The original films are amazing works of art that should be enjoyed in their original format as well as the new, enhanced format.
Sincerely,
Bill Lott
