5151 Seth Jones IL, United States May 15, 2012 Its very dissappointing that the original film is unavailible all these years later. I found out today that even the recent dvd release of the "1977" cut is actually the 1981 cut which featured some alteration to the opening titles. Not sure if I will ever be able to actually see the 1977 cut and thats a shame. Subsequent editions havent won awards the way that fisrt one did.

5153 David Kearney CA, US May 15, 2012 Please re-release the ORIGINALS. They were awesome. Thanks
5154 Michelle Sinclair VA, USA May 15, 2012 Please! I would buy it, and though I have diligently seen all the movies in the theater, I've never bought any Star Wars merchandise.
5155 Pio D'Oria Ontario, Canada May 16, 2012 The fact that the prequels were all around bad movies was devastating to a lot of fans.

I feel sorry for all the presure George Lucas must feel when it comes to Star Wars.

I think the original movies should certainly be preserved.

5157 Benjamin Hudik MI, USA May 16, 2012 I'm not going to list all the reasons why I think that the original trilogy should be on blu-ray. There have already been so many people who have done so many, many times. Mr. George Lucas has attained the success I could only dream of accomplishing, so with no disrespect intended I would like to have the option of buying the original Star Wars Triology on blu-ray. Before the episode numbering even happened. To me the orginal three films will always be called Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, and The Return of the Jedi.
-just a request but I'm sure we'll be able to adapt eventually.

5165 Rene Peraza CA, USA May 17, 2012 What else can I add to the petition narrative? Other than the fact that I'm a kid of the 60's who grew up in the 70's and was deeply moved by the first Star Wars film in 1977. My brother and I we're dealing with the first year of our Dad leaving our family, and a double viewing of Star Wars Mon-through-Fri during the summer of 1978 at the Valley Circle theater in San Diego's Fashion Valley area — with its large cinerama screen — was our second home! We came to know your film very, and it simply has been part of our youth story ever since. We of course, enjoyed the follow-ups as well, but have a warm place in our hearts for the original edit of Episode 4: A New Hope.

5174 David Deuvall AZ, USA May 19, 2012 I wish I could own a High Definition version of the original theatrical releases of the original Star Wars trilogy. I want to see it the original edgier versions I saw in the seventies and eighties. I loved the in-camera special effects.
