| 5051 | James Peacock | Texas, U.S.A. | May 3, 2012 | What I saw in the Theater on August 7, 1977 with my parents on my Birthday changed my life and how I look at the world forever. I could make a living making worlds of fantasy. The 1997 release is okay. I consider it the half thought out product vs. Lucas' half "finished" product. Hopefully it's the ace in the hole Lucas is relying on for his children's legacy. Release it after he dies to ensure his children's fortunes from the proceeds. |

I grew up with the theatrical cuts, and they're what I want to spend the kind of $$$ requisite for Blu Ray copies on. Aside from the nostalgia, let's be honest: This hasn't exactly been Blade Runner new cuts. At least with that series you looked forward to new released, scenes, pieces of the story. The modifications to Star Wars caused the series to regress; I don't know if my children can appreciate just how good the original movies were if they watch the remastered versions. |
| 5059 | Marc Cimon | Quebec, Canada | May 4, 2012 | I realy don't give a damn about episodes 1 to 3... theyr'e pathetic in their essence. But please give me back the joy of my first time. |

I love the original version because it's the one I grew up with. In french, the voices are different for the new scenes, it's awful to hear. And I really dislike the changes made. I only bought the DVD to preserve my videotapes of the original version which will be the only version I want to show to my children. Please restore the 1977 version for the millions of fans that made the movies a phenomen. |

Star Wars is undeniably a part of the American cultural fabric, which intentionally followed mythographic principles and met with commercial and critical success. It's enduring legacy saw its proactive survival through changes to media through several formats. Indeed, the deliberate transition to digital for the purposes of restoration ensured that its potency for legitimate archival storage. However, witholding the original material is a gross abuse of corporate malfeasance and personal snobbery, with all of the ugly implications of copyright and intellectual property as it applies to artistic works. Witholding original incarnations of the work is to withold the work itself. What we are offered is not "Star Wars," but "Star Wars: The Special Edition." The only justification for this is an ignorance to understand the distinction, or a complete unwillingness to recognize it. |

| 5071 | Joel Gratcyk | il, United States | May 6, 2012 | Why not release the original on Blu-ray? It'll make you more money. I'd love to own BOTH the new and "original" versions of STAR WARS. :) |
| 5072 | Olivier Thavoneham Robidoux | Quebec, Canada | May 6, 2012 | Please, please, please do this. I'll be very happy to watch Star Wars in its original form on Blu-Ray. |

| 5084 | Timothy Chamberlain | Utah, United States of America | May 7, 2012 | The original theatrical cuts of movies are a part of our history. To see what everyone was so excited about in the first place. A lot of movies that have had changes made still will include the original. And in my personal belief you can't enjoy a new edition without knowing where it came from. I think to many in the movie industry make that mistake. |

| 5089 | Todd Kleinpaste | Ohio, United States of America | May 7, 2012 | The availability of the originals is essential to the identiry of Star Wars fandom. The availability of the originals can go alongside the special editions. To do otherwise is to attempt to alter history. To alter history is to lie to posterity. |
