D+77 - Star Wars - 4k Theatrical reconstruction (Released)
Time

I wanted to say thank you to oohteedee. Finally the OT in 4k that will be my only versions until I pass on. Thank you so very much. I went to see Star Wars in '77 at my local drive-in. I was 9 years old. There was one crappy mono speaker that hung in the window and my Dad didn’t think to wash the car prior so the front windshield was dirty…but it didn’t matter. I remember everything about that night.

Well it seems there is an audio glitch on the song "Silver and Gold" it skips over 1 word, and I am reading there is some color errors, with Santas Elves, and Yukons coat is back to blue but supposedly there are a few frames where it still shows greenish, I am actually still trying to look into all this to make sure, I was hoping some here may know and can offer up some assistance.

That DVD according to members at blu-ray.com has the correct audio for the film, I thought I had it but still have not found it, I also want to spin my 50th BD to see/hear some of this myself, this is such a classic film that it deserves to be correct, well at least to me anyways.

Thanks

 Couldn't agree more.

Why is the picture so blurry? Is it that the print is lacking the fine detail or are you not scanning the frames in a good enough focus? Because to me it looks fuzzy and lacks detail you'd expect to see in a 35mm print.

First I need to apologize to Dark Jedi and the rest of Team Blu. I received some releases from them some time ago and haven't posted a review as yet.

My health has been a challenge lately. Today I didn't feel like crap so I can finally do some justice for Team Blu. Team Blu has got to be the most under rated, under appreciated, most talented guys to ever come along. There is nothing left between their releases and retail. You cannot tell the them apart. They are THAT GOOD.
From the outside packaging, to the movies and menus on disc.

I received Lake Placid 3 & 4 and Maximum Overdrive in the mail. All perfect. I haven't watched MO all the way through yet but I did watch both Lake Placid blus and had a fun time doing it.

Here are some pics.

There was even movie post cards on very thick poster board stock and a movie poster from Maximum Overdrive...crazy good.

DJ and You_Too,

Are ESB and ROTJ (GOUT and 97 SE) finished? I thought they were a ways off, but wasn't sure after seeing vbangle's pictures. I finally got around to watching Star Wars, it's hard to believe this was sourced from that 2006 bonus disc! Thanks again Team Blu.

My apologies, I didn't go into detail talking about the Team Blu GOUT V2....

Its only Star Wars, both GOUT and 97 SE, that have been released so far.

And yes, how did they manage the detail? Crazy right?

Maybe Always got a 1997 Special Edition?

(I have no idea why he chose to post those specific shots instead of Star Wars ones)

We know why and that is really all that matters right? after all this is our thread.

*edit, I guess I should have said I know why, he told me in an email.

Then I guess he didn't need to post that part here, did he?

Don't get me wrong, I love "v."  That guy always makes me laugh.

I didn't "need" post anything. I wanted to. But I guess I should get Frink's permission next time.

Asswipe.

Alright, here we go. Ladies and Gentlemen, let me show you what Team Blu is all about.

They are about quality in workmanship from the printing of the artwork, the multilevel menus, and the mystical head scratching way that they are able to up convert almost any Standard def video to HD video that even holds its own on a 65" screen. You guys are at the pinnacle of fan restoration. Team Blu is the best.

I've never met any of the members of Team Blu in person, but I feel I know them. Especially Dark Jedi. Hell of a nice guy. DJ is the type of guy that is dependable as the day is long. Loyal to fault and always tells it like it is. You will never get any bullshit from DJ. PERFECT. This world we all live in would be a much better place with a lot more Dark Jedi's in it.

I just received a fucking HUGE bluray package from Team Blu that made me smile from ear to ear. And for a lack of a college education on my part, I have to use the only word that I know that comes close to describing what I saw when I inspected the shipment of bluray's from Team Blu,...AMAZING.

Check out these pics.

And now the for the best non HD sourced bluray I have ever seen. I have no idea how this is even possible. The on screen pics really don't

do this bluray any justice at all. Check this out. Look at the attention to detail. The extras blew me away. Thank you Team Blu for your outstanding

efforts and your generous gifts of time it must of taken to make this happen. THANK YOU so very much.

The "Always Bluray"...

Too dam good Team Blu. Thank you for your caring spirit and professionalism. There is simply no one better. Suck on this all you pretenders!

What Team Blu has done with the 1977 Star Wars is nothing short of spectacular. Thank you for creating this beautiful restoration and sharing it with us. I'm still amazed at the detail you managed to extract from a source as bad as the GOUT.

On a side note: althor has shared his preservation of the original Star Wars trilogy from Japanese laser discs. The transfer was from the mid 80s and has no digital blurring/smoothing or motion smearing that I can see. I think the (mostly) raw footage would be a better source than the GOUT for any future Star Wars restoration projects. However, I'm just going by how it looks to my eyes. :) Please take a look for yourself to make the comparison. The files can be found on usenet or MySpleen.

Thanks again to Team Blu!

Wow, glad to see that this shit continues even today. Why do people continue to advertise other projects in this thread about THIS PROJECT?

What the fuck? I get an email saying that there is new posts in the DARK_JEDI OT AND SE TEAM BLU RELEASE THREAD, and then I login and read about someone else's project.....great.

We want to thank the asshat that posted our covers at this site without any credit at all, damn seeing this stuff is just so damn cool, bravo to this person for being so classy and doing this, very nice.

I just got in the "I Love Lucy" complete series on DVD and needed case artwork. It's been a long time since I needed case covers but this is a mother's day gift to my wife ....anyway as it turns out this site is the only site that had them. So I became a member. After locating the I Love Lucy covers I decided to look around some and whoever is screwing over Dark_Jedi and team blu is doing it again. They uploaded the yellow Star Wars cover as well.

I reported and complained to the admins there that these covers were created by Dark_Jedi and that he hasn't given permission to have them shared on any forum or website.

Hopefully they'll be taken down.

Whoever did this didn't even have the balls to put their name down so we could see who it was that uploaded them. No wonder team blu went under ground...too many low life assholes around here.

So, are you saying that as a BD and media player, it's worse than PS3?

Just my opinion, but yes, it is worse. But that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Sony has sold a crap load of PS4s so maybe Sony wasn't too far off in their thinking about what the PS4 should be. A gaming console or an entertainment system?...they chose to make it a gaming console.

It's BD not BR lol.

To all of you that donated blanks long, long time ago, stay tuned, we are in the final testing stretch and it looks like we may be able to release in time for "Star Wars" Day!!!!!!!

I have a Hell of a lot to do to make this happen.

I'm pretty stoked now. I'm gonna marathon these babies as soon as they arrive.

Guess I'll need a new Blu-Ray player. PS4 perhaps?

My son has a PS4. As a gaming console its a step up from the PS3. But as a Blu-Ray player, it is a disappointment. It will play Blu-Rays just fine but navigation is minimal. It just feels like they only cared about making the PS4 a gaming platform and the Blu-Ray movie/ Home Entertainment portion was secondary.

I just finished making my own Blu ray versions using DVD architect and it is great.  I used an old copy of From Star Wars to Jedi as an extra and I found all the trailers for the movies and a bunch of old Tv adds.  I never thought I would be able to own a Blu ray boxset of the theatrical cuts of these films.

Oh and I don't care what anyone says I liked the Ewoks and I loved the original rock song that plays in Jaba's palace,so thank for retaining that and the original song at the end of the movie.

This is great!:)

My copy of Harmy's Star Wars Despecialized Edition is defective, because these scenes are missing from my copy. Damn it.

The White Buffalo 1977 (Released)
Time

I just finished watching this and again Team Blu releases are so professional. The picture and sound is blu ray quality which is pretty dam good considering this is a cap off of a HDTV stream, correct?

Watching this movie brought back memories that I had forgotten. But for the life of me I can't remember when or where I watched this movie. I think the only possibility was it must of been part of a double feature at our local drive-in. Sometimes I would pretend to be asleep and watch the feature film from the back seat without my parents knowing about it.

Thanks Team Blu for reviving some scary yet fun childhood memories!

Cool, thanks for the feedback.

The balance looks good to me as well across the whole film. Those settings are meant to be for the classic version though, I've got a nice 'matte' feeling going with the SW and ROTJ classic settings, do you feel that it looks a little too saturated?

This clip below uses the same settings as the previous clip but with reduced saturation. Do you prefer how this clip looks to the previous clip for the classic setting?

https://mega.co.nz/#!X8ZTWLzL!wDIQLrUTy045tR_qxhWPNEg9DwBj1b9ZTIxXveKjld8

Took a look at both, and I think you know what I like by now. I prefer the previous look, not this one with its reduced saturation settings.
