The Special Edition wasn't needed.

I'm new here, so here's my take on both SEs with bits I approve of and ones I don't.

Approved:

- Enhanced spaceship effects

- Film restoration

- Improved wide shots (Tatooine (not Mos Eisley), Cloud City)

- Temuera Morrison's voice added (it's more badass and threatening, it's like Morrison is Keaton and Wingreen is Bale, Wingreen's was too over the top, but Morrison's was perfect)

- New Cantina creatures

- Fett flurting

- Ewok celebration

Uneven:

- Dewbacks

- Sarlacc Pit

- Mos Eisley (adds scope, but the creatures were too show-off-ish)

- explosion rings

- Emperor in Empire

- Jedi Rocks

- Extended Vader shuttle scene

Disapproved:

- Greedo shooting first

- Luke scream in Empire

- Hayden in Jedi

- Wampa

- Jabba in SW

1Shouta's story should teach us something. If you introduce someone to Star Wars, TELL THEM TO WATCH THE OT FIRST! Luckily, my brother was big into SW back in the 90s so we had both the 1995 'Faces' and 1997 SE VHS sets. That and bits of Episode 1 (not too much, it was laying in a pile of tapes one day, my brother shoved me, I fell on it), so I got to see the OT before the prequels.
