I'm already streching my boundaries for you guys releasing this. If the whole thing ever gets released it will be by the Original owner of this thing (and I know how he feels). And since people tend to pass releases off as their own the watermark stays where it is. I have already confined it to the lower half of the picture and only 30% opacity.Since I'm going out on a limb here this is the best I can do. I truly understand your need to have this complete documentary and I won't have any problem with someone else releasing this, but it won't be me. The Original owner is known to be quite relentless pursuing his supposed rights to the material. I realise this seems all very cloak and dagger, but it is as it is. I know I can't please everyone and I expected the negative comments comments coming towards me, but my main drive is to please with this release. So enjoy it in it's current form, hope for the owner to change his mind and if your not happy with it I can't help you with that.

Hi Guyz,

that's because you need to wait for my (admin) approval. The reason I have to do this is because I get a lot of spam from russian and american sites. I get a lot of applications per day but most are weird names like "ffghghjd" or something to do with porn or cars or medicins. If for some reason you don't get approved just send me an email with a desired username and password and I will set up an account for you.

If anyone has any other options on how to deal with these spammers please let me know.

Hi There,

I'm just one guy with a full time job so it usually takes me some time to get things done on the website ;)

However like SilverWook said: if people don't tell me if something is wrong with the website I won't know about it because it works like a charm for me. And I really really love Flash (not Gordon mind you).

If you tell me what the problems are if you're having any I will do my best to fix them though it may take some time. I have just received a whole lotta more serverspace so I will be re-uploading all the video's and images in better quality. I also have a lot of magazines ready that i will be uploading to the site very soon.

New high-res Movie Classics image forum....

As a sister forum to StarWarsArchives I have set up a Movie Classic Forum with topics on the Alien movies, Blade Runner, Dune, Dark Crystal, Legend, Interview with a Vampire, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Labyrinth, Harry Potter, Indiana Jones, Lord of the Rings, Battlestar Galactica, V and more......

It is meant as a sharing and contributing forum like the main forum of StarWarsArchives.
I already started the forum with hunderds of high-res images from vintage press kits, digital press kits, scans from old and new books with much, much more to come (like PDF-versions of vintage magazines).

You're all welcome. Whenever I can contribute I will of course.....

A bit off topic here but:

after a too long hiatus where work was more important than life I'm back to finish StarWarsArchives and start contributing to the Star Wars forum again. I will be updating StarWarsArchives quite a bit in the coming time so stay tuned...
For now I have added about 17 new magazines to StarWarsArchives.com as well as a new gallery for some rare "Pit of Carkoon" images from the French Lucasfilm magazine. Those images can also be found on the forum in high-res.

I have not been sitting completely still as I've started a sister forum for movie classics (my personal favorites, ok, but hey).
I have been uploading hundreds of images in the various forums and will upload hundreds more in the coming weeks. I hope you join me in this and start uploading those high-res / great / rare / beautifull images you have ;)

You can find anything from Blade Runner to Lord of the Rings to Battlestar Galactica there.

Please read the rules and requests on this new forum before you start posting, because I want to keep it nice and tidy

I just opened the year 1976 with some fun content: sketch gallery, rare image gallery, the various Star Wars script drafts and of course the audition tapes from Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill and some extra stuff from Harisson Ford.

Other updates are:

Captions have been added to the images in the galleries of those images that can be found in higher resolutions in the forum of this site.

1977 promotion - photoshoots is updated with some great images including some never before released alternate images from the 1977 Fangoria photoshoot.
1979 - photography - elstree studios is updated with some great images including some never before released images from the ice hangar set at elstree.

Lots of new videos on starwarsarchives

Hi everyone,

I just uploaded a new feature called "The Muppet Connection"
It has some vintage sw related video's in it:

- The 1980 Star Wars Muppet Show
- An episode of Muppet Babies with a Star Wars theme
- R2-D2 and C-3PO on Sesame Street (the workprint video)

These are long video files good for a few hours of fun.

I also added a new section to 1980 called 'rare video' which includes:

- Clapperboard (interviews with Anthony Daniels, Dave Prowse and Peter Mayhew)
- A very rare BBC documentary on John Williams from just before the release of The Empire Strikes Back (lots of BTS clips from the editing and interview with John Williams, Gary Kurtz and Irvin Kershner)
- Walter Cronkite visits ILM (larger file available for download at the starwarsarchives forums)
- A dutch broadcast from 1980 with lots of clips from the lost Michel Parbot documentary (the making of the Empire Strikes Back)
- A german broadcast from 1980 with interviews with Irvin Kershner and Anthony Daniels.

Also from the 30th anniversary B/W set from officialpix which was released at Celebration IV. It is limited to 250 sets. It has 30 wonderfull images that you can all find in the movie stills section (1977) on starwarsarchives.com

site improvements

I have worked on some improvemnts on the site. Mainly optimising the seperate flash movies for faster downloads. I also added a new video player which is incorporated in the 'lost documentary' section, as well as in the new flash movies. This player will replace existing movies in the next few days. With the player you can now go forward within the movie, choose others movies for that year or section, resize the movie (this will decrease the quality but enchance the viewing pleasure) and adjust the volume. Any comments are more that welcome.

I have added a few years to the timeline with fun content.

- 1979: added 1979 to the timeline with downloadable Bantha Tracks, ILM move gallery, Empire Strikes back production galleries:

the forum is up and running

The forum is up, but is still a work in progress so bear with me. You will be able to post messages, but a lot of the boardfeatures I will have to work through when I have the time. Any help or comments on that will be very welcome. I will post larger video files on the forum, as well as high-res versions of images from the site (including the Gary Kurtz galleries) in the next few days. I hope you will do the same to get this thing going. If you have comments or error reports you can mail me here

downloadable Bantha Tracks

Added the Bantha Tracks Newsletters issue 1 to 22 to their respective years (1978 to 1984). I have to scan issues 23 to 35 to be added later. Bantha Tracks was such a part of the whole Star wars experience for us older fans and the only source of Star Wars information at the time (as well as some cool membership kits).

image updates

- added 20 new amazing images to the 1977 Gary Kurtz gallery.
- added 15 new images to the 1980 Gary Kurtz Gallery.
- added 10 more great images to the 1977 Robert Carlyle gallery
- added 58 new and ultra rare images to the 1977 promotional movie stills Gallery.
- added a whole new video player to the Empire: the lost documentary section a well as 2 new clips from this doc.

My computer crashed last week and cannot be repaired (burned out motherboard). Therefor I have to buy a new computer and cannot access my mail for now. When I'm up and running again (and have rescued my files, mails and such), I will reply to every mail that I received but for now I can't
