Has anyone seen the 1998 fantasy/sci-fi feature Dark City by Alex "The Crow" Proyas? I just watched it, and I swear the Matrix ripped it off (then again, DC probably ripped off some other stuff as well).

The Plot:John Murdoch awakens alone in a strange hotel to find that he has lost his memory and is wanted for a series of brutal and bizarre murders. While trying to piece together his past, he stumbles upon a fiendish underworld controlled by a group of beings known as The Strangers who possess the ability to put people to sleep and alter the city and its inhabitants. Now Murdoch must find a way to stop them before they take control of his mind and destroy him.
I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an Obi-Wan to go.

...I believe I read somewhere that Matrix actually reused some sets from Dark City.

Dark City is a great film. When I first watched it I too thought that the Matrix ripped off a lot of the concepts in DC. I don't know of anything to official to support it though.

Dark City is one of my favorites...my gf couldn't understand it though...too bad.

Although, she can't imagine Kiefer talking normally anymore now...

I think DC and Matrix go in very different and unique directions.
