“My skill are no longer as Mad as the once were” RiK
Thanks you guys. I tried for a little of the best of everything. Sort of what an official release might contain if there was one.
And a big extra thanks to Rikter for all of his hard work on getting this material out. I actually just wrote him and said that it's a great feeling to be able to share my personal SW projects not only with my friends, but with people all over the world.
I hope you all enjoy and share them with as many people possible.
The original Rowman DC supplemental disk has video clips with commentary, is this the way it was presented on the LD's or were they incorperated into the movie? I have a version of the DC supplemental disk, it has all the extra's apart from the commentaries. It is probably the one done by Gonzo, is it worth getting this Rowman version for the commentaries? Also does the editdroid bonus disks include the faces AND DC interviews?

The actual laserdiscs had selectable intermittent audio commentary during the viewing of the film. My Definitive Laserdisc Extras disc extracts all of the scenes with commentary only and presents them all together, apart from the films. It also contains the interviews, and all of the other extras from the Definitive Collection laserdiscs except for the trailers. The trailers are found on the individual films' bonus discs.
The individual films' bonus discs contain the Faces interviews.
The easter eggs are easily found on the main menu of the SW, TESB, and ROTJ bonus discs.
When pairing these four bonus discs with the new TR47/ Cowclops release, the commentary is redundant as it's on the individual movies and the fourth bonus disc.
I will be uploading Rowman's The Definitive Laserdiscs Extras DVD tomorrow sometime to a.b.starwars, after Cowclops Ep6 is done. That is as long as Rowman does not care, PM if you do care Rowman.
Rowman Ultimate Supplemental - IV is going to start being posted at a.b.starwars in about an hour. V and VI will start next tuesday, late tuesday night.
So would you guys say this set is worth downloading if one already has the Gonzo supplimentals, making of a trilogy and the cowclops v2 with commentaries? I'm just curious because Rowman's stuff looks really nice, I just don't have a whole lot of discs left, and not a lot of $$ for more right now. Thanks!
The pics posted by Russ15 are my very first versions I did about two years ago. Content and menu design has changed and video quality has been upgraded a lot since then. My current (and probably last) version is available directly from either Rikter or myself via snail-mail (although I believe Rikter will torrent soon) or through the downloads that segaflip is handling right now.
Originally posted by: russs15 Thanks. That is that mystery solved. Has the The Definitive Laserdiscs Extras DVD changed too or was it just the 3 Bonus discs that changed? I have the version with the menu screenshots you posted earlier.
The Definitive extras disc has not changed. It's done pretty much the way I want it and contains all of the Definitive Collection laserdisc extras material (including commentaries), but no trailers. My individual movie bonus discs contain all of the trailers and at least one for each film that does not appear on the official 2004 extras disc.
Thanks for the help there working out what I actually had and what I was short of for my collection.
Ironically, I have been adding to the Star Wars DVD versions pages that I have been working on for the past few months. The confusion today yet again proves the need for such a web site. The whole thing is still very much UNDER CONSTRUCTION.
With all the newly found information and your new screenshots, I have updated the entry for your releases.
I still have all the detail to add but is it looking about right so far?
Looks great to me so far! In case you're interested, there was actually another version of these bonus discs made in between the two releases you listed. Those DVDs featured all of the content from version1, but custom menus were created to go along with the RowMan Remix trilogy (as Rikter called it).
So, I guess, the current version of my bonus discs are Version 3.
