I'm at work right now and the guy I work with next to me is listening to - - - World of Warcraft radio - - -
It's the saddest bloody thing ever. A radio station talking about a bloody game...what to be, the best character, what to do...Oh my god!!
It's one thing to play the game that sucks all your life away, but to listen to a bunch of saddo nerds talking about the best way to play...well call me whatever you like, but Jesus this is sad beyond all sadness.

World of Warcraft radio is my favorite radio station! Don't diss it until you've heard it. It really is quite entertaining. You'd never guess that a radio station about a real time stratergery game could be such an interesting and educational tool. You can learn so many great things about life, the universe, and... well... practically everything from that radio station.

Sadly, anyone can breed, this is not a badge of achievement, most of the time it is a monumental failure (which is why the world is full of idiots). A failure is what he will also be if he teaches his son intolerance, biggotry and hypocrisy in the manner of which he now demonstrates Needlessly slandering someone elses hardwork, which 100s of 1000s of people have gained enjoyment out of, is about as childish as one can get. Let's face it, the cause you lot followed was hardly the best use of your time ever either, but you didn't see us come along and slag you off for it. Why is a radio station about warcraft such a sad thing?
Theres 8 million people playing it and im sure theres that number of people or even more who own all of or some of the Star Wars Trilogy so why are they total nerds for talking about something 8 million people enjoy?
There Star Wars Podcasts around that are good, does a site based on Star Wars think there a bunch of nerds aswell?
Theres podcasts out there about way more stupid things than Warcraft and even ACTUAL TV channels (Wine TV i found last week :s)
Also just to pull out the Star Wars thing, wouldnt it of been called sad that Geoge Lucas spent all day writing storys about aliens insetad of getting a real directing job on something that would of been guarenteed to make money?

It doesn't do any good whatsoever to start ranting and raving about their inadequacy just because they have a different point of view on the idea of an internet radio station dedicated to the World of Warcraft. Not only were you so insecure that you did give a damn, but another admin at your own site apparently doesn't agree with you in regards to the "mainstream" idea you seem to espouse (I don't see nearly as many WOW references in popular entertainment as SW references, but that's just me.) That guy seems a lot more level-headed, and not nearly as miffed, as you are. I might add, also, that you brought the fight here. You should have taken his advice.
Then again, it's apparently your radio station, so a personal, emotional response is to be expected. I'm sure we can expect more in regards to this post as well, all hidden behind the "more attention for me and my website" charade. Here's a tip: get a puppy.

How the hell did you people even find this place? This is pretty funny. I am wondering how many of you folks are going to raid this place and claim we are nerdier than you. HotRod just thought it was kind of dumb, so sue the poor guy. My comment about him having a son was to say that he is raising a kid, meaning he obviously spends his time on things more worthy than playing a video game all day and filling in the gaps between gaming sessions with listening to a radio station about it or posting all day about a sci-fi movie from the late 70s. I also mentioned that his 2000 posts came from being a member since 2003. He had well over three years of wasting probably less than ten minutes a day at this website. How many hours have you played Warcraft this week?

If someone at this warcraft station insulted this site then we'd go over and say they were wrong and ask why should you insult a site over the internet and its the same with then.

When someone slanders your work, it is the natural reaction to go and mount a defense. Since the original post was so mindnumbingly retarded, especially from a supposed father and I quote 'The saddest thing ever!'.
Yeah you see my staff are actually allowed to be open-minded and express their own opinions. They can disagree with my point of view all they like and react as they wish, either way they don't resort to slandering someone elses hard-work so it's all good in my book.

Oh please. Don't try and pretend that you actually know how the structure of our organisation operates. No-one is forcing anyone on my staff to think in any particular way. Unsurprisingly, other staff members who also put a lot of effort into putting out free entertainment for people at the cost of their own time and money, were rather upset about the whole thing. They don't particularly like to see people slandering their good name, as would anyone IRL. How you can possibly justify that is beyond me. However they have chosen not to post and let me take all the flak as per usual. Which is fine by me, if I can protect my staff, and hold the moral highground in this purile example of hypocrisy from posters on your forum then I'm all for it.

I'll point out his mistake. Though I do not see even him rubbishing your site as 'the saddest thing ever!', or various other childish remarks involving copious use of the word 'nerd'.

Actually, it is the other way around. TB can dress up his remarks all he wants, but they are, ultimately, condescending, which is why we're all having a good laugh at his expense.

Meh, if insulting other peoples work is what the off topic forum is about, it doesnt suprise me that it was a non postivite link from the site that got people over here.
I do infact listen to wow radio and i just came over to give my view, and was not asked to do so by anyone at the station .
I dont see why someone should set up a thread just blatently insulting a site, but i also dont see why such a small community (whos own members seem to admit to only using it as a forum and not for the reason it was made) could warrent such a big responce becasue it will serve no purpose.
I just think that if you just outright insult people or something it doesnt mater if you insult them back or make a positive, or no responce atall, someones started it off with an insult so thats what the trouble is and thats what leads to all this stuff happening and it doesnt need to.

Ok fair enough, i just dont see why this started out as an insult of the station and needed so many other invovled in the sides defences.
Although that last comment and this one is kinda kicking myself , but this was between HotRod and TB, so theres not much point in anyone else getting involed, but like you said the off topic forum is for discussion of anything so if people wanna discuss it im fine with it.
Just still cant understand why insulting someones station and staff is needed in the first place but then would be the start of some sort of challange as to 'who can outpost who' with people getting involed who dont need to (myself included).
Anyway, i like WoW Radio and this site seems very good aswell, so i dont see why there needs to be too big a deal, nobody has insulted this site, and although this whole thing did start with and insult of wow radio, this isnt exactly gonna break the listenership in two or drive away the wow players from listening, cos people enjoy both sites and this doesnt need to cause a big deal for either.

I have said it before I will say it again, HotRod has better things to do (like taking care of his kid, working to provide for his kid, spending quality father son time with his kid) than defend himself from an attack by some (very, very, very sensitive) guy who somehow tracked this site down and started violently insulting him for posting his OPINION on this guys radio station. HotRod probably hasn't even been back around here yet to see how his thread has progressed.
Personally, I find the humor of this situation overwhelming. I would have never imagined something like this to happen. HotRod didn't aim anything directly at you, he just found the whole thing amusing and though he would share it with some of his friends. You are the one who somehow found out about it and game in here guns blazing (oops, sorry. Battle axes swinging, right?)
I am not quite sure what you are trying to achieve here, perhaps you don't realize most of us are from countries which support freedom of speech and everyones right to their own opinions, apparently you are not, or don't realize that you shouldn't take others opinions so hard. Please stick around guys, we are loving this. But if you do stick around we would ask that you keep your nonsense confined to this thread. Also, the personal attacks insulting HotRod's fathering ability are pretty low. Let's try to keep matters above the belt shall we?

Alrighty guys, here is my take. We are all either Star Wars geeks or WOW nerds, either way it is all in good fun. Although, I do tend to think that a WHOLE station based on WOW is kind of odd, I mean I've never seen a Mario, Gears of War, Zelda, or Halo station before. I do think the guys at WOW are being too overly sensative, I mean, they should realize that they are playing to a niche market and not everyone will be into it. Just like Star Wars plays on a niche market as well, but Star Wars is well rooted and has generations of fans from the last 30 years at least. Maybe WOW will still be played 30 years from now and have just as much a rooted following as Star Wars, who knows. Either way, who cares.

1. WoW radio is not just an internet radio station about a game, it is a community, run by staff who care about their fans and are very active in their own community.
2. If you don't like WoW, then don't listen, and don't bother anyone. No one wants to hear you whine about something, when it can be easily avoided by you just shutting up. Frankly, I think HotRod is the most childish person I've ever come across.

You all should really heed your own advice, if you don't like what a thread has to say, don't read it. It was a simple harmless thread detailing the odd fact that a game has reached such hieghts that it warrants it's own station, besides this thread would have died within a couple days had you WOW folks had not taken it so personal and decided to write comebacks constantly. It is almost getting the point of your being trollers.
