my views on the robocop trilogy

Robocop 2 and 3 are not as good as the 1st,but to me are still good movies. Heres why the 3 movies work as a trilogy. We all know, that robocop had something to do with jesus. This comes to play in the 1st movie. however, what you did not know was it comes to play in the other 2 films. In the 1st film murphy is killed, then comes back as robocop like the death and the resurrection of Jesus. At the end of the movie, robocop is seen walking on water. Ok now in robocop 2, robocop fights a new evil robocop, made from the brain of a cult drug lord, who thinks hes a savior. Much like the antichrist and how jesus will stop him, much like  how robocop does. Meaning if robocop is some how a kinda of jesus, then kain or robokain is much like the antichrist. Ok now for robocop 3,robocop saves the city from ocp and gives people there freedom back. Much like how jesus is said to come back in save the world. So there you go thats how i see the trilogy, you may not see it the way i see it but its cool. I wanted to share my views.

I think the Robocop/Christ parallells in the first one are very plain and shirley intentional on the part of the director (how seriously they're meant to be taken is up for debate).

I think you might be stretching it for Robocop 2, and I've never seen 3.

I don't see the problem with this thread.  I think it's a bit out there, but so what?

I think LTDIF should make a comic strip of the life of Jesus with Robocop's face but using a bog standard photo manipulation program to give the images an edge and leave the text and speach bubbles rough.

It would change the way we read both stories forever and nobody has ever done anything like it.

I hated RoboCop 2. So, so much of it was beyond horrible. When I finally got around to seeing the first one, I was astounded by the dissonance between the two - it's like they don't take place in the same universe at all.

Never seen the third one, and probably never will.

God doesn't think in terms of black or white - or even shades of gray - but in big, bright, bold hues of blue and orange.

who's suppressing anything?  I simply asked a question.  Since the others don't seem to mind this thread too much,  I'll say nothing more except one last thing.    I am little bothered by the comparison of Robocop to to Jesus Christ.   I personally do not think image of the cross is something to be made fun of.    That said, I will bow out and say no more.  Everyone do as you wish.

Images are images.

I'd hope people would draw the line at manipulating the image of a vulnerable person and/or someone who didn't volunteer their image for internet use but Jesus has not been photographed, the cross has not been photographed Jesus is not a painting, the paintings of Jesus on the cross are not Jesus on the cross so all that's been moved is pixels.

If God was against depictions of humans and living things in human form I'm sure he would have passed some sort of commandment about it and laid down a punishment for people who kept them and took them too seriously.

Robocop too would punish anyone who abused any image manipulation laws on the statute books of New Detroit (as long as they were not OCP employees).

Yeah but Warb, while that photo is probably a bit irreverent, Christ imagery is very common in movies. Did the Jesus parallelism in "The Green Mile" bother you? How about "Superman Returns?"

i see superman and robocop as another version of jesus, thats one of the reason why they are cool to me. the story of robocop and the story of superman is almost the same as jesus.
