Slayer of Deaditeskk650, tehparadox and former ot.com member, has created regraded versions of the following films that were handled badly color-timing wise. I highly recommend these releases, as they are very nicely encoded and re-color-timed. They're quite worth the download.
----------------
Alien
Technical Specs:
Name: Regraded Alien: Theatrical Cut
Size: 7.60 GB
Video: 1920x824 H264 23.976
Audio Track: English DTS 5.1
Subtitle Track 1: English Subtitles
Subtitle Track 2: Spanish Subtitles
Okay, AluminumFalcon requested a version of Alien regraded to remove the green tint throughout the whole film so I was happy to oblige! :)
AluminumFalcon also requested a version of Aliens regraded to remove the green tint running throughout the whole of that film as well so a regraded version of Aliens will be appearing in the next day or two.
I hope you enjoy what i´ve done here. Please post back here with feedback of what you think of this release after you check it out, it would be greatly appreciated.
---------------
Blade Runner
Technical Specs:
Name: Regraded Blade Runner: The Final Cut
Size: 14.6 GB
Video: 1920x1080 H264 23.976
Audio Track: English Dolby Digital 5.1
Subtitle Track 1: English Subtitles
Subtitle Track 2: Spanish Subtitles
Okay, marlec, Makalala, AJ87 and _origami_ all requested a version of Blade Runner regraded to remove the green tint throughout the whole film so I was happy to oblige! :)
I also encoded this release with the same dimentions as the blu-ray so anybody wanting to make an avchd of this to fit on a bd-25 for example shouldn´t have any problems.
I hope you enjoy what i´ve done here. Please post back here with feedback of what you think of this release after you check it out, it would be greatly appreciated.
--------------
Last Mohicans
Available in both a 7.59 GB version and a superior 15.4 GB version.
Technical Specs:
Name: Regraded The Last of the Mohicans: Director's Definitive Cut
Video: 1920x804 H264 23.976
Audio Track: English Dolby DTS 5.1
Subtitle Track 1: English Subtitles
Subtitle Track 2: Spanish Subtitles
Okay, geon47 requested a version of The Last of the Mohicans regraded to remove the strong yellow tint running throughout the whole film.
The blu-ray transfer also has many scenes which are impossible to make out due to the transfer being far too dark and murky, so in this regraded version the brightness and contrast has also been corrected so its now possible to see what´s going on in darker scenes, of which there are many throughout the film, like you were able to in previous home releases of this great film.
On the blu-ray, outdoor scenes in direct sunlight very often look dark and overcast, much like the transfer of fellowship of the ring extended edition blu-ray, only in this case much worse. The daylight scenes in this regraded version look correctly exposed.
By sheer coincidence, I had already created a version fixing the numerous problems that the blu-ray transfer has when geon47 requested this, its been sitting on my harddisk for quite some time while I focused on finishing the Star Wars Semi-Specialised Editions, so here it is, finally seeing the light.
I hope you enjoy what i´ve done here. Please post back here with feedback of what you think of this release after you check it out, it would be greatly appreciated.
---------------
You Only Live Twice
Technical Specs:
Name: Regraded James Bond: You Only Live Twice
Size: 7.69 GB
Video: 1920x824 H264 23.976
Audio Track: English DTS 5.1
Subtitle Track 1: English Subtitles
Subtitle Track 2: Spanish Subtitles
The official blu-ray release of You Only Live Twice has a strong pink tint that wasn´t in previous releases and has been added across the whole film so I have removed it with this release, returning the film back to its correct colours.
I hope you enjoy what i´ve done here. Please post back here with feedback of what you think of this release after you check it out, it would be greatly appreciated.

Might I also add that kk650 is a really nice guy. :) If there's a movie that you think has been really screwed up color-timing wise, you can politely suggest it to him via PM on tehparadox.

Someone needs to tell him to do The Matrix. If he could regrade that from the blu-ray, it would look amazing.

Good to see someone is correcting 'botched' releases. He doesn't state what he's using to judge the correct colours though. Is there anything to suggest that the regraded Alien and YOLT are closer to the theatrical colours than the bluray or are they just timed to match older home video releases?
Glad to hear he's doing Aliens (I hope he also does the theatrical cut). I'd also love to see the 2D Jurassic Park bluray given the colour timing of the new 3D bluray.

I already asked him if he could and he said he's just to busy with other projects but that he will definitely check it out.

I believe Alien and YOLT are corrected for a natural-looking palette more than anything. kk650 makes the off-white whites white again. Thus, they are technically correct and not tinted.
YOLT unfortunately doesn't have its technicolor back yet but at least its better than both the DVD and BD. There's no pink tint, which makes flesh tones and whites weird.

Padawan LearnerYes I'm going to get the Matrix one. I didn't like the Aliens one thought, it makes the movie looks like some badly lit TV movie.

The thing is kk650 freely admits that these regraded release aren't restoring the original theatrical color timing. They've just basically been white-balanced but in the case of BR releases that have a blanket tint added throughout the movie this may be preferable for some.
I have to say his HDTV-based release of AOTC does look so much better than the Blu.

Twisted & EvilNice! Will be going for the Alien (theatrical cut! Yes!) and Blade Runner regrades!

I know what it stands for, yet this remains a good question...

Yeah, I noticed, which means the Matrix still won't look anywhere near theatrical. A neutrally color-timed Matrix will likely look really boring (the original version also had heavy tints, they were just different colors).

Oh yeah Attack of the Clones daa lol
Anythings better then the green through out the Matrix, at least something close to theatrical i suppose?
thanks

The Matrix bluray doesn't have a blanket green tint across the whole movie; in fact the 'real world' scenes have pretty much the same color timing as previous releases. Scenes set in the matrix itself always had a slight green tint, but the bluray ramps this up to 11 and makes some other questionable color changes to these scenes.
Here are some good examples of what I'm talking about: (EDIT: It should be noted that although the screens on this page all from DVD releases, the most recent DVD has the same color timing as the bluray)

I looked at samples of his his regraded version; it basically makes the colors very neutral and un-Matrix like. I actually sort of liked the "up to eleven' bluray of the Matrix, it looks very bold. I just wished it hadn't replaced the theatrical version.

This means that he was upfront about what was done. That is good. This way people can make their own choice on whether they want to check it out or not. That's good for everyone.

Absolutely. It would be great if he had the time to do a scene-by-scene regrading to the original timing but I understand that would be an enormous undertaking and certainly not something I could even begin to attempt. It's great that kk650 is giving us these alternatives. The more choice, the better I say. :)
