media junkiewell the whole bloody affair received its first full viewing tonight. and i am happy with it. however i will for sure increase the size of the subs to 18. they are legible at 16 but chainsawash was right as usual on that. 18 will in fact be better. we should have a sticky on standards such as subtitle size and other small detail,s that otherwise take trial and error adding to the lengthy process of an edit. i for 1 have redone the subtitle size 4 times simply because i did not know how they would look on a tv. but it probably does not matter for anyone using a tv for a monitor. i am currently working from a 15" laptop and it is hard to tell how subs will look on a tv. otherwise the edit came out great. didnt see any glitches or problems at all and picture quality was as good as i think it can be for a 4 hour movie on a dl disc. i will finish up the subs and release the movie in a day or 2.

Well done on your efforts on this over the last month, and I'm certainly going to give your version a viewing some night, eventually.
Interesting that you're actually going up from font size 16 to size 18 now for your subtitles, as I recall you initially thought that even size 14 was too big...
I see you altered your 1st post on page 1 of this thread yesterday, which is a pity, as the description details info. that you originally posted here are gone now. Anyway, the first I knew about your intentions for this edit was in the post you made here - http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/Kill-Bill-The-Whole-Bloody-Affair-QtheGaijin-Fan-Edit-COMPLETED/post/483530/#TopicPost483530 , which you posted under this interesting 'upcoming official release' link that Doctor M posted in the Kill Bill-The Whole Bloody Affair-QtheGaijin FanEdit *COMPLETED* thread - http://blogs.indiewire.com/theplaylist/archives/2011/02/25/quentin_tarantinos_kill_bill_the_whole_bloody_affair_to_finally_premiere_in/
...and as someone who really likes QtheGaijin's extended Kill Bill edit, I was interested to see what you'd come up with, and followed the various questions and answers along the way...
Well, it was certainly a 'rocky' read at times...with some (unintentional) 'lols' along the way...but I'm glad I continued through all your confusing ups-and-downs, as there were a few interesting snippets of technical info. to be found amongst the various threads you posted throughout. :)
You proved to be determined with this since you began about a month ago...so in addition to this thread, here's the complete order of appearance that your first(!) edit's frustrating saga took on in the 'How To's and Technical Discussions' section (where issues of womble/vegas/subtitles etc. were concerned), for future reference. media junkierofl wow looking back it was a rocky road. but i have never been a quitter when it comes to hobby,s. thanks for posting those links imperial fighter. i altered the first post because it felt no longer relevant in the grand scheme of the thread. i am very thankful for the help i received from various hobbyist,s on the truly confusing hurdles i had to overcome. and it seems to me i dredged up a lot of technical info that was not really listed in any posts on this forum or in the sticky,s i have never done a tutorial thread before but i feel the forum could benefit from some more sticky threads on the subject of technical troubleshooting and fanediting standards. maybe a submit for approval thread. that forum goers can post how to,s on. just an idea but i think more people would fan edit if they had a instructional bible to refer to.

media junkiefor example: i cooked up this list real quick. if a list such as this were sticky,ed in the how to thread it would have saved me countless hours of research and trial and error testing of various software. does anyone else think we should have a sticky like this?

media junkiefinishing up the last few details on kill bill. extended the audio fade out from vol 1 to vol 2 sso that the music plays up to the point beatrix starts to talk. the transition is very clean. someone i showed the edit to did not know where the cut took place. last detail to fix is the menu highlights in the main menu are just a hair off the text. overall its perfect imho. thanks for all the help from everyone. release tomorrow! for real this time.lol

I agree. Something along these lines which highlights the various software/programs you mentioned in your recent post, would make for a useful 'sticky' I reckon.
You could always stick your suggestion here for Jay to think about sometime - http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/forum.cfm/Suggestions-and-Ideas/forum/5/

media junkieedit i s still coming! just hit a snag with the dvd author software. i switched from dvd architect to encore. good news about this is the menus will be far more elaborate. bad news i had to learn a whole new software and encore is a bit more difficult to understand but i am over the rough part now and making progress. i had to take a weekend away from this edit it was getting to me for a second there. but i am back to work now. stay posted.

media junkiewell i got a little frustrated with this project and burned out. so i took a few months off and just came back and finished authoring the dvd. i just wanted to do too much and got overwhelmed. so i ended up creating a simple main menu and just a chapter menu. the main menu has a fun animation and video clip. but the edit itself is pretty damn good! i dont like the idea of uploading to demonoid or public trackers. but it has been uploaded to bithq. if anyone has a membership there you can get this edit. otherwise idk. a big thanks to all you guys that helped me to make this happen. ot.com was a lot of fun though i have too many hobbies going at once to fit in fanediting for now. but i may be back for another one one day.

media junkiethanks ziggy. i have uploaded it to BITHQ and requested it not to be uploaded to other trackers. so if anyone wants to check it out you should look for an invite. which i recommend anyway because it is the best private tracker on the web. i really dont want it up on demonoid and the bithq members are very respectful of that. the edit has been received well so far. and a member their even made a new disc label for it. this site was the turning point in the making of the edit and without you guys that helped it would have been junk. but i feel it is the definitive edit. their was initially a hidden page on the dvd that was a dedication to the members of ot that helped. but in the end it did not make it to the final dvd. it just has a main menu and chapters menu. but you guys know who you are and i hope you know im thankful. looking forward to having some more time to do another fanedit and i will be back then. what i had in mind was "underworld trilogy" i would like to combine the 3 movies and cut out a lot of the more boring scenes. trim it down to about 3+ hours. it could really be a good edit because of the fact that the 3 movies are pretty consistent in style and actors. what do you guys think of the idea?
