Have you heard the score he did for Close Encounters, E.T, or the first Harry Potter? Besides Star Wars and Raiders, those are his best soundtracks.

People often don't realize Williams also has an large body of television work. Lost in Space is among his most memorable tv scores.

His body of work is beyond impressive.  I have more than I can mention without forgetting a few.  That said;  These in particular are in regular rotation for me, depending on mood;

only two composers are as good as him (to me): Alan Silvestri (judging from his BTTF scores) and Howard Shore

Gotta agree with that statement.

I like John Williams, he is a modern romantic composer, what more could a person ask for?

I do really like Joel McNeely as well. He took what Williams already gave us, and took it to another place. Much of the music on the SOTE soundtrack could have fit into the OT.
