Looks like there are others here that can't accept brutal honesty either, that is the way I am, and always have been, I sugar coat NOTHING when I give my opinion, and I really could care less if I "rub" someone the wrong way, people that know me like how honest I am, I do not believe in using "kid gloves".

Well then don't expect people to not call you on your opinions then. You seem to like giving them out as if you don't care, and then when someone calls you on it, you don't understand why they are.
Enlighten me d_j, are we all getting the wrong end of the stick or do you really mean to offend some people with what you say? because, why be so defensive when someone DOES take offense? It just seems a bit odd...
I have followed this forum for a long time before I registered and I followed your older GOUT projects and you weren't always this way. Maybe it's been so long, but it seems now more than ever you are careless in the way you express your opinion - to the point of almost wanting to be argumentative for the sake of it.
I'm not here to purely defend asterisk, but I am here to say what I've noticed personally from your posting style lately.

Nah I'm done. You've just established what I originally thought, which is you are egging people on to argue with you.
But you still haven't answered my question.
I think we all get that you don't care about what you say... We get that. I must ask though, more simply, what makes you think it's OK to be like that and still get away with it? Someone is always going to take offense. You are literally inviting people to.
Moth3r if you are reading this, if the rules don't apply to dark_jedi because he's a friend then fair enough - your call, as you are the boss. But, I will say it seems a tad unfair to other people - assuming that is the case with the rules.
I'd actually prefer it if we could all just get along, but I get the vibe it's impossible with you dark_jedi.

Could've easily been ampersand7Teaming up? Sure, big guy. We're all in league against you.
I'll say it one last time, I don't care if you hate adywan's edit or any edit. I love it, I've never denied it. I also love Puggo's restorations (which I just watched the other day) yours and ABC's Imperial Edition of ESB, and DarthEditous' Ep IV hybrid (which was the the first SW fanedit I ever watched). My problem was with the comparison you made between those who didn't like the Special Edition changes and those who do like faneditors' changes. It's a bad comparison and I called you out on it. You got all bent out of shape and started crying about why I singled you out instead of Jeyl, and you don't pay attention to threads on this board but you've spent more time and effort here than me by your own admission. You just basically turned into a little baby because I took the time to disagree with you. I had no idea that only dark_jedi is allowed to be all "brutal honesty" over everything.
You're a hypocrite and a baby if you can't take what you apparently give out here all the time. Is that sugarless enough for you?

Egging on arguments is not what I have done(not deliberately) see now I feel that some of you have, and NOT caring about what I say, that is not right, I will say what I mean, I will not sugar coat, if something looks like shit or sounds like shit, that is precisely what I am going to say, hell I even say it when my own projects look and sound like shit, so not sure what you are getting at, reading more into what was typed I am sure.
and you calling out to Moth3r like a little tattle tale, well quit frankly, how does that make you look now? I have broken no rules, we are in the off topic my Friend, in case you didn't read that.
I to prefer it if we all got along, but some make that hard to do, that is why we have an ignore feature here, what the hell, use it, I get along with 99% of the people here, but if I get called out, sorry I am going to respond, I get called on for agreeing with another member, then I get accused of calling people "hypocrites", then I respond by assuming all that are throwing that out are AK's, I was not at any point dis respecting Ady's decisions on HIS project, it is just very funny how you better not dis agree or else.
So rockin, did you PM Moth3r?

NOW this is a post, FINALLY LOL, you grew a pair, for the record, I NEVER said I hated Ady's Edit, it is just not my cup of tea, to many crazy alterations, like I have said, no different than what GL did with the SE's, deny the difference all you want, it is the same.
Puggo's works are, well what can you say, FANTASTIC!!!
Once again you say I said ALL, obviously you can't read anything in () most, not all.
Again I am a baby for what I am doing, by what you are typing and toting, doesn't that pretty much put you in the same boat LOL.
You say I am a hypocrite, don't think so, not me, sorry to disappoint.

NOW this is a post, FINALLY LOL, you grew a pair
I've always had a pair. Big and hairy and dusty with Gold Bond. I just don't swing them around in everyone's face like you.
You want to debate the difference between adywan's changes and GL's? Fine. The difference is that adywan's changes were for him. He was making the version that he wanted to make and watch himself and for his kids, and then at some point he decided to share them with everyone else. Lucas decided to make changes and shove them down everyone's collective throat, and the pretend that his original version never existed. That's a big difference. That's what pissed fans like me off, was that Lucas made his half-assed special editions the new standard. That's the reason that this site exists for us to argue about semantics.
The other difference, that matters to me at least, is that adywan's changes bring greater continuity without drawing too much attention to themselves (some less or more than others). My biggest problem with the Special Editions was the computer-generated creatures shoehorned in. They are obvious because they are unnatural-looking. Jabba in ANH, Jedi Rocks in ROTJ. They looked bad when the SEs came out, and they look worse now. The original 1977 optical effects look better in 2011 than the CGI from 1997 and 2004. I don't think any of adywan's changes look as bad as the best CG creature in the Special Editions. And whether you believe it or not, if they did look as bad, I would be the first to say it. I'm a big fan of adywan because he hasn't yet disappointed me. That's just how it is.
So does that establishing shot need a trooper walking by the camera in ESB Revisited? No. Adywan can reason that it gives more "activity" to the scene, but I agree that it's no different in spirit than several of GL's changes. The difference is in execution. And that difference exists, but you can ignore it if it makes it easier for you to feel like you're right.
I'm off to grab some beers. Have a good one.

Dark Jedi KnightYes and all those are fair points, but changes are changes, I NEVER specifically said you were a "hypocrite" now did I? no I did not, and GL can do with his movies whatever the hell he wants, he owns them, not us, and as far as the OT goes, we are not even talking about that, everyone already knows, and have known, that these are not going to happen(hence all the damn projects I am doing) fact is fact, and yes, some people in his thread like the SE's as well as his(Ady's vision) but some of those people in that thread bitch up a storm and call for GL's head because of the changes he made(remember they are his films) but then turn around and praise Ady as the SW GOD because of ALL the changes he is making, now THIS is what I find rather amusing, and at least some in the thread understood where I was coming from.
I am not knocking Ady or his vision of things, that is his baby, it is the people that I mentioned that want GL's head, but then praise someone else for doing radical changes.
*edit- I didn't really start getting riled up until someone accused me of calling everyone in the thread a hypocrite, which I did not.

I've got a 2000 Kawasaki Vulcan EN 500. It may not be a big bad Harley, but hey I just graduated college last year and it's all I can afford, and it's my baby and I love it. And I think it's pretty badass nonetheless.
And here's adding some reall irony to this argument. Since I joined here recently I've been trying to decide what restorations to get, and after reading through tons of threads and looking at all the edits available, I've decided to get Puggo's, Ady's, and your V3's :p Each has its own different, and equally awesome approach, so why resign myself to just one? Can't wait till either of you are finished!
