For those of you old enough to remember. Do you recall when ted turner started superstation WTBS back in the day when cable tv first started getting big and he bought the rights to Gilligans Island. He started coloring all the original copies of the black and white episodes and Lucas was one of the people who came out against it and said that they are a testiment to that time period of tv history and reflects the achievments of the time and should not be touched or changed.
I guess since lucas had nothing to gain he felt it was ok to talk about turner doing it but since he stand to make mega millions if not billions changing star wars it is ok for him to do it. this is a perfect example of how money changes people.
most the changes made to the OT were done because lucas knew evryone had already had multiple copies of star wars and most people would not buy another copy. but if you make 75 changes to the film and add all these new scenes then people will have a reason to buy it. that is why sop many of the chnages he made did not make sense. it didnt matter if it made sense all that mattered was that enough changes were made so that they could advertise 50 or so changes. enough to make people want to buy a new copy and see the changes
like han shooting first. lucas claims he always wantedto do it that way but gary kurtz says lucas is lying and he says if lucas wanted to film it that way back then they could have very easily of done that. he said they didnt film it that way because it wasent writen that in the script. just more lies by lucas. this man has lost any and all respect. not only from the fans but from his peers as well and I am willing to bet his own self respect.
