Your favorite movies

Salutations,

This thread is where you can name your favorite movies. Why do you like it so much?

If your favorite movie is Star Wars, what's your second?

EDIT: The thread can now contain your current top five if you can't think of just one.

Aren't I nice?

You will not. None of us will, except for a very old and dying Ziggy Stardust who will watch it through teary eyes as he remembers us all.

That's a hard question. That's like asking a parent which kid they like the most. Off the top of my head, I would have to say Amadeus.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won't last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you'll be able to project it on a 20' by 40' screen with perfect quality. I think it's the director's prerogative, not the studio's to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Stargate was my favourite movie for a long time, but now I don't have any specific favourites.

God doesn't think in terms of black or white - or even shades of gray - but in big, bright, bold hues of blue and orange.

Star Wars 1977.

Second favorite probably Raiders of the Lost Ark because it is such a fun movie to watch, and better than any of the other films.

"Always loved Vader's wordless self sacrifice. Another shitty, clueless, revision like Greedo and young Anakin's ghost. What a fucking shame." -Simon Pegg.

Someone once put an idea into my head.  To see a certain movie.  Now, I'm not sure if it wasn't my idea all along.

So here's a pic of me in SluggoCentral about 3 hours ago watching a new favorite movie.

Note the bald spot

When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish memes.

^btw, I just watched it too, and that dvd sucks.  14 minutes of forced previews that you can't skip (though you can FF through them), no chapter stops....ugh.

Movie sucked too.

No chapter stops? Did Netflix do this to you?

The RedBox version was like this.  That's when I was making the popcorn, so I didn't mind.

That's a tough one, I tend to go through phases.

my favourite movie right now is probably True Grit but I'm sure that will change soon enough.

look at Johnny Ringo, man.  If I had to go against that guy it would be an Indiana Jones\Dovchenko event - and I'd be hoping like hell for a bunch of ants.

Right now, I'd have to say Blade Runner is still my favorite.

However, I'll have to think a bit about movies I've seen since I declared Blade Runner my favorite, and decide if there's anything that might usurp its position.
