Oh, sorry. My mistake. See, I did the reply with quote thing on your post, I had to delete a few things and it looks like I accidentally kept your name but deleted the name that should be there instead. Sorry about this. I'm going to fix it now.

Chief Architect of Cynical MoralityI doubt that Adywan is keeping the dumbest part of the Wampa scene. Sorry.

My problem with the original Wampa scene is that it's a lot less effective without any of the rest of the Wampa footage. Instead of a constant, creepy and mysterious menace on Hoth, we just get two scenes of something we never see. It's rather unsatisfactory and ruins the intended effect.

Chief Architect of Cynical MoralityI think of it like the swamp creature that eats R2. It's just a danger of alien planets, not a plot point.timdiggerm said:

legendary but little-known Jedi MasterI used to like some of the changes, like the Falcon blasting out of Mos Eisley, and the ships leaving the moon. But after having had a chance to reflect more closely on the movies in their entirety and as a whole, I now think that all of the changes are crap. Every single one. Except giving credit to James Earl Jones... that was overdue.

What's funny is that he still goes uncredited for the work he did in Empire, in '97 he only got one for the first film, (he was already credited in Jedi) but then again in those current fake cuts you have credits such as for Clive Revill's voice acting which can not be heard... so I guess it's not that important, it's beta versions for sale afterall.
We want you to be aware that we have no plans—now or in the future—to restore the earlier versions.
Sincerely, Lynne Hale publicity@lucasfilm.com

Yeah, like Jack Klaff (Red Four: John. D). He's credited, but he only says "I'm Hit!"

Favorites: Millennium Falcon taking off from Tatoonie, Death Star explosion, new sail barge, the Wampa cave, new Emperor hologram and a livelier Mos Eisley. (Even though the CGI is crap, it looks like a spaceport.)
Least Favorite: CG X-Wings, CG Jabba (both versions look like shit), Jedi Rocks, Boba Fett in ANH and Hans broken neck.

give me the unaltered OT and PTIt's weird but ESB arguably benefits the most from the changes because there are relatively few of them. The Falcon landing at Cloud City was done very well. I find it hard to believe Lucas couldn't have done something like this back in 1980 though as it's basically a model with a matte painted background.
Nothing has so far benefited ROTJ. Every single change has little or no redeeming value. The new closing music is okay but the glimpse of other planets makes me wonder if Luke tweeted the Emperor's death or something because those celebrations sure came together quickly. Hayden as Anakin's ghosts, Jedi Rocks, "No... Noooooooooo!", they're all retarded.
All I really want is each film as it was originally seen and heard in theaters; no fixes, corrections, "improvements" or modifications necessary.

I think Lucas added Vader saying "No" to connect with the (rather hysterical) "No" from Episode III. But what Lucas doesn't realize is that you don't need Vader to say anything before he grabs he Emperor. When he grabs the Emperor, Vader is already silently saying "No."

If the original version was widely available for public consumption. Most of us wouldn't care so much about the "other version" except for people like me who prefer that some dodgy F/X and wonky mattes are corrected. Plus Mos Eisley seriously needed more buildings/people to fit its description of a "spaceport".

Why? I guess I see a "Spaceport" being the same thing as a "Truck Stop". Some are of course very large, attract heavy traffic and are usually busy with people coming and going. But a lot of em are small, run-down and not very active.

The CG X-Wings at the end of Star Wars blend seamlessly with the rest of the footage, and really improve the pacing of the battle.
My least favorite would have to be that one shot in Mos Eisley where Luke is approaching the stormtroopers in the Landspeeder. The CG dinosaur that walks in front of the camera looks totally fake and unnecessary.

Minecraft PlayerI love the CGI X-Wings and TIE Fighters. They look far better than the original ones. The droid moving across the screen in the original Mos Eisley was enough. We really don't need a Jurassic Park T-Rex make a cameo in Star Wars.

Sarcasm? They look so obvious in ANH.
