Now with the new canon being implemnted could we see Chewbacca not just be the Solo family dog? Could he play a significant role in Kashyyk politics? Become a general in the New Republic fleet/army? And most importand could he get his own long running comic series as a protagonist? Can he become a more 3d character?

If Rocket Racoon can do it...

I definitely think we'll see more activity coming out of Kashyyyk. What with two of the main characters from Rebels praising the Wookiees for aiding their people during the Clone Wars.
