In those horrendous and bad star wars prequel films, but especially episode II and III.

Um.  Right.  You know, she's a very good actress when she's in good films with good directors.  In fact, she's been winning award after award for Black Swan.

Everyone was bad in the prequels.  Everyone.  Yes, even Liam Neeson (he looks bored as shit the entire time) and Ian McDiarmid (in Episode III, anyway).  McGregor got off lucky for episodes II and III, but he wasn't very good in episode I.

So yeah - a Star Wars prequel is not a very good indicator of acting ability.

Every actor has one really bad turd in their careers. This turd just happened to be the most anticipated bowel movement in history, and there was three of them.

I like how sky keeps finding new ways to make the same thread.

It's funny; other than Mars Attacks, I don't think I've ever seen Portman in anything outside the PT.

God doesn't think in terms of black or white - or even shades of gray - but in big, bright, bold hues of blue and orange.

So... that means... you've...you've....

YOU'VE NEVER SEEN "THE PROFESSIONAL"?!?!?!?!

Oh dear God, I didn't think it was possible...

I got into a big argument once with someone who insisted that The Professional, Léon: The Professional, and Léon were a trilogy of three distinctly different movies.  They simply would not believe that they were three different titles for the same movie.

I love Leon, I just prefer watching the theatrical version. Too much sexual tension in the long cut.

I've never seen the short version.  What was cut?

I think he is talking about the American theatrical cut.  That was censored in the USA.  The french premiere cut is uncut.

I'm not sure but i think the DVD in the USA is now uncut and unrated, but the original USA version was an R.

I was impressed by her performances in beautiful girls and the professional.  But mars attacks and those prequels are horrendous.

Seems like in sci-fi and fantasy genre films which are the films i watch she is horrible.  That is why i though maybe if she is good in Thor, i might be proven wrong.  But most of her adult roles have been dreadful or chick flick crap i won't watch.

On my regular commute to work, I usually hit some red lights next to a poster of Natalie Portman advertising Black Swan.

You would, wouldn't you?

I know that The Professional is the cut US version of the movie.  Never seen it.  I believe it's around ~15 minutes that was cut?

Léon is the international version, with the ~15 minutes intact.

Léon: The Professional is the title on the DVD box of the US release of Léon, which is identical to the international version.

I'm asking what was cut from Léon (which I've seen and love) to make The Professional (which I haven't seen, and don't really plan to).

Though I guess I could just Google it...

A lot of what could be considered the sexual tension between She and Leon. And a bit of her training, and some of her jobs like the gum on the door. Then the scene where they are at the nice restaurant. It's been a long time since I've seen it though.

I enjoy the Long cut more, but if I was going to recommend it to family it would be the short version, because of the sexual tension.

I've heard plenty of complaints about this movie, but this is the first time I've heard anyone bitch about it when discussing Natalie Portman.

Natalie Portman is not a bad actress, but she is nowhere near as good as she seems to believe she is and as she is made out to be.  In my opinion, she's simply not up to some of the roles that she is given.  I think the same about Keira Knightley.

I feel the same way about Winona Ryder.

Still I'm looking forward to giving this a spin :

(Yes, I know).
