I am going to rip the video to my drive today, does anyone have the time codes or frame numbers of where exactly these edited frames go this would really help speed things up, I have not seen this movie in years, and do the edited frames need to be color matched? my plan is to edit in the frames(color match if necessary) and then re-encode and swap out videos but leave the entire BD as is, complete with extras and menu's, so if anyone has this info it would help speed things up lol, I only have time to do this because I am waiting on project files for testing.

Thanks

It appear that the time stamps for the baby herman scene is 0:04:37-0:04:38 and the infamous Jessica Rabbit going commando is 1:13:08-1:13:09.

I hope this helps.

If you're using the BD video without any color adjustment, the frames shouldn't require any color matching.

Here are the frame numbers I have for the frames that need to be replaced:

Baby Herman Scene:
6896, 6897, 6898, 6898, 6899, 6900, 6911, 6912, 6913, 6914, 6915 ,6916, 6917, 6918

Betty Boop Scene
26235

Jessica Rabbit scene
109674, 109675, 109679, 109680, 109681, 109682, 109704, 109705, 109706, 109707, 109708, 109715, 109716, 109717, 109718, 109719, 109720, 109721

Are you going to use something like VideoReDo so that only the censored parts are re-encoded?

I think I may have entered the wrong frame numbers for the first two sequences.  I was trying to build an avisynth script to replace the frames but it wasn't working with the original frame numbers so  I think I may have moved the frames up or back to try and get the script to work.  I checked on the video itself and here are the correct frame numbers:

Baby Herman finger scene:

6888-6892
6903-6911

Betty Boop flash:

26226

Guys, what do you think about this one:

In the Toontown bathroom, on the wall next to the Allyson Wonderland graffiti, there's a towel dispenser with a bird's nest on top.

On the theatrical version, one frame shows a brown splodge as if one of the birds has taken a shit defecated onto the towel below. The splodge has been removed from the BD version.

Take a look and let me know if you think this is just a coincidental spot of dirt on the film, or if it's been deliberately drawn on by the animators.

That sure doesn't look like dirt to me! Man, I can't believe they did all this.

It doesn't look like a spot on the film... but it really doesn't look much like anything else either.

It's an animation flaw. From the looks of it, it was something that got on the frame after it was composited or on the negative itself.  There's another flaw on the Baby Herman finger scene where part of the cel overlaps the woman's leg which was removed on the later versions.  I can restore the frame if you think it's necessary but it doesn't appear to be an intentional part of the original film.

Can you post a screenshot that shows the flaw on the Baby Herman scene?

You can see it here on the lady's leg.  I actually restored this one on the frames I did because I couldn't decide if it was part of the original film or just part of the original film-to-video transfer.

It actually looks like you can see a bit of Herman's arm through her leg.  Weird.

Yeah, part of his arm that was supposed to be removed obviously wasn't removed.  I left this flaw in the restored BD frame.  I can restore the wierd towel dispenser blotch if any of you feel it's necessary.

Jebus. I had no ide about all this! I knew of the Jessica Rabbit stuff but the nip slip!?

I guess I can understand why Disney would clean this up, but I wish they didn't.

It also reminded me of just how great this movie is.

You know, if you're going to be creating a custom edit with all of the edited material reinserted, there is nothing saying you can't make the curtains match the drapes:

LOL

I just wanted to restore the frames as closely to the original theatrical presentation as I could but if you want to do an "extra dirty" version yourself, the files are there for you :)

Wow, that's pretty damn cool, Moth3r. I would be willing to watch it like that, if only just to satisfy my crippling OCD about the real differences in the "censored" versions and making a somewhat definitive documentation of the changes.

How sensitive is your method? Will it assuredly detect any noticeable difference? Does it give many false positives? I'm really intrigued by this.

I've now finished an encode of this (it's a 1.2GB AVI file containing Xvid video and no audio). Spotting the redrawn frames is made more difficult because the alignment between the two sources changes for some shots, but if you really want to see it I can make it available.

Examples:

Baby Herman finger

Betty Boop nip slip

Poo stain/animation flaw

Redrawn dress sequence

I never knew about the "nipple slip" did people notice it on the big screen?
