Where does your screen name come from?
Mine is fairly obvious, as are some others like Bossk or Luke Skywalker, but there are a bunch of interesting names out there, as well as some that are probably less obvious than they sound. So if you can explain your choice of screen name, please do.

P.S. Even if it's obvious to you, there are people (like me) who have little knowledge of EU names, for example.

In early drafts of Star Wars, Luke Skywalker and Anakin Starkiller were jedi generals looking to rescue the princess. I liked the sound of it, so I decided to use it. I use 'starkiller' or 'Roy Starkiller' (Roy is my real first name) on just about every message board I visit.

Where does your screen name come from?
I post on the Anchor Bay film forum under my initials which is boring and someone else was using this name there and I thought it was a pretty cool and more interesting name so I decided to pinch it and use it for myself on other forums, I know there is a rock group called Mr Bungle but I havent listened to them for ages, so this has nothing to do with me using this screename though I have been asked if that is the reason why elsewhere...

Mine is basically a bad and unfunny joke based on the line 'Obi-Wan was your Father' which was originally delivered by Dave Prowse as Darth Vader on the set of ESB to keep the plot twist a secret (The line was later dubbed with 'I am your Father' by James Earl Jones). When I was signing up I had no idea I would end up being such an active member of the OT.com community so I didn't give much thought to my name - if I had it would be something cooler and/or easier to type (maybe just 'Yoda')

mine was taken a from a long time ago when I was pretty good at GoldenEye on the N64 - and so a few mates put the 'oo' (havn't a clue why it wasn't '00') and my first name together and that was that - illiterate souls the lot of them

My pals pointed me to a Nancy and Sluggo comic book a while ago, and that I was as leisurely as ol' Sluggo. It has stuck ever since.

Oh I really do miss that game. I haven't really played video games since the N64 era, so I haven't experienced any of the new stuff that is out there. But I really get annoyed when people laugh when Goldeneye is mentioned and say things that is such an old game or, oh yeah, I remember we used to play that all the time. It was so cheesy. It makes me feel like beating them over the head with my cane.

As for my screen name, I used to read a lot of Dark Horse's Star Wars comics. There was one issue of Droids that did the cliched evil-twin-swap story line. C3-P0 gets mistaken for a renegade assasin proticol droid named C3-PX.

I think your screen name is great. It's funny and creative.

As for me...well, take a wild guess. I took Darth, like many people here, but put Evil on the end. The joke is that if a sith was named Darth Evil, it would be extremely obvious and silly.

Hey, Darth_Evil, your name is also an Austin Powers reference. In the scene where Dr. Evil describes his plan to put a Frickin' Laser™ on the frickin' moon (henceforth to be known as the "Death Star"), Scott mockingly calls him Darth.

Mine is the Sith name of Il Commendatore, the Old Man in the sunglasses, Enzo Ferrari.

I mispelled general grevious- i wanted to take the name of something i believed to be the most 11th hour and useless character ever created in the SW franchise.

Sounding like a broken record since May 2006.

I'm sad to say that none of the Bond games since then have come anywhere near it - Perfect Dark was the closest thing to a worthy successor - but even that was on the N64 - many years ago...

Some of the 007 efforts have been to be blunt, embarassing at worst - bland at best.

If only they'd do a straight remake of GoldenEye for the next gen consoles - upped up the framrate and maybe put some extras and more screens & missions on it etc - but keep the actual game and its superb gameplay intact

Cool signame btw

Yeah, Perfect Dark was pretty good too actually. I still have my sixty four and those two games. Unfortunately Perfect Dark lacked the replay ability Goldeneye had. It is sad that there have not been any later Bond games comparable to that one.

Huh. Never thought of that, but know I can go around and gloat that my screenname has more than one joke in it! Anyone else have a name like that?

well my name came from the time before time on this forum.

originally back in 2001 I was making a bunch of no-budget star wars movies in my backyard
and my character was called "Darth Phillius"... and I liked it as a name so I used it on a few Star Wars olnine things...

but during 2003 I was thinking up names for my instant messenger and it hit me: Lord Phillock.
I like it and hope that no one will take it either...

Well, I've explained this a few times before, but since you asked, I'm willing to share it again. My user name, sig, and avatar all go together for the same effect.

In Star Wars lore, Carrie Fisher was not allowed to wear a bra as Princess Leia, so her breasts were bound with gaffer tape. I thought that was pretty cool and funny and would be a pretty good name and it was probably something that no one else had used. So there you go. I'm Gaffer Tape. And I'm a theatre major, so I encounter gaffer tape quite frequently. So it's only a cool name when I'm here.

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming... Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

I thought the line was "Obi-Wan killed your father", but either way, your screen-name still makes sense.

I am called The Red Baron mostly because my surname is Redsell. Some of my friends call me 'Baron' from time to time, and 'Red Baron' has become my profile name in most videogames. I believe Halo was the first game I used it in, and it has stuck ever since. Seeing as 'Red_Baron' or 'redbaron' is always taken (and send me to the depths before I ever put a number in my username), I make a b-line for 'theredbaron' in every forum I sign up for. It's a pity the 'Red_Baron' name is nearly always wasted on some inactive schmo that never posts in any given forum.

It's pretty much a gaffer's equivalent of duct tape, an all-purpose tape used for whatever purpose it needs to be used for, like taping extension cords to walls so they don't get in the way or taping down an actor's marks on the floor of a set.
