A long time ago... in a childhood far, far away I got my first Star Wars figures.
Obviously you have the figures released in the SW, ESB, ROTJ and POTF (80's) lines but what do you consider to be a 'full set'?
Personally in the standard figures I include variations such as:
Blue Snaggletooth
Vinyl Jawa
Obi-Wan (white & grey hair)
Luke Skywalker (blonde and brown hair)
Luke Bespin (as above)
Lando Calrissian (teeth showing & not)
Leia Bespin (2 x neck variations)
Luke Jedi (Blue & Green sabers)
I've probably missed some but what do you think? I'd like to include telescoping sabers but I don't have any of these :(

Chief Architect of Cynical MoralityPersonally, as long as you have one variant of each of the original figures (not including POTF), it counts as a full set...
Just so that I can say that I have a full set. ;-)
I lack most of the variants and POTF. I'm quite proud to have as much as I do and never having bought anything since childhood.

For me:

is a "Full Set". Everything you mention is above and beyond. I'd call them the "Complete Variation Set"
I'm still waiting for a missing appendage Yak-Face to show up to finish my 'Full Set'...

Luke
Leia
The droids
Han
Chewie
Obi-Wan
Darth
and 2 stormtroopers
I always considered them complete because they were all that I needed.

You will not. None of us will, except for a very old and dying Ziggy Stardust who will watch it through teary eyes as he remembers us all.

I think power of the force figures are "outside" of the original set. They were carded different, and by that time they sold horribly..... which is why they cost so much and are worth so much.
My 2 cents

CRAPPOLA!! I've just dug out my old collection from my parents loft yesterday, and some of them now look different to how they should.
Cloud car pilot is now yellow instead of white, as is R5, and two of my stormtroopers in the body part of the figures are discoloured compared to the arms and legs of it. But really i'm pissed off with the fact my model of shuttle tydirum is discoloured the same aswell as my family all chipped in to buy it for my birthday a while back.
I also have recent stuff that was released with ROTS which is going yellow now instead of being white, now im bothered to check it (Target exclusive clone trooper).
WTFFF!!!!!

Doesn't know how to handle his new-found fameThat's really common. Plastic yellows with age as it deteriorates. It happens faster if improperly stored. A hot, stuffy attic isn't good, but sunlight is the absolute worst for discoloring plastic. It's very normal for vintage figures to be discolored, especially the white ones. And since the bodies are often made from a slightly different plastic than the limbs, the amount of discoloration will vary. As for the newer stuff, Hasbro has had some issues with plastic of some figures being less stable. There's a bad batch of clone troopers that can currently be found at retail that all have yellow helmets already, & they're brand new for sale still in the package. Hasbro did a second run that has better helmets (so far) but many of the yellowed ones can still be found at retail across the country.
