"We the People of Originaltrilogy.com."(Please read first post)

   Dear,

Disney, 20th Century Fox, Lucasfilm, and Mr. Lucas

Some people may agree and some may not.

We only want what is best for are new generations, for them to see the films that first came the the theaters in the 1970's and 80's. They are the films that made Star Wars so popular and about the history of films and the culture of films. Most hate the fact that you changed your films and others don't care. Some like your Changes to the movies and the Prequels and some don't. That's what this site was created for. I am young so I like both Trilogy's and the Originals (77, 80, and 83) and the Special Editions. But, for some of the people on this site they only like the Originals and I can see why, they grew up with these movies and I respect that. The SE is just not the same. So please do what this site was made for and restore and release the Original Trilogy in it's original form.

The People of OT.com

and Thank You.

Pretty good...BUT,

20th Century Fox has no say in the matter.

I know but, they still own a little bit of Star Wars.

Here's a link for you so you can find it. ;)

(WARNING: This joke will not be funny to Nanner Split)

In all seriousness, it's a nice composition, pat man :)

The ROTJ collaborative thread is a wealth of ideas, both on how to edit Return of the Jedi, as well as how to collaborate in an edit.  Emanswfan has taken leadership of the project.

Password for all ROTJ-related clips: ROTJ

A very rough edit of how the Battle of Endor could go
A very rough idea of how ROTJ could end

Rough edit based on the final script with some deviation:

Part 1  Part 2  Part 3  Part 4

Please don't make a joke about this thread. This is serious. I don't want this one to be an off-topic thread. So please take this seriously. Please don't move this into the off-topic section Moth3r and Jay.

I think it over-stresses what people like and don't like.  That is irrelevant, in my opinion... preserving important films is important because they are a part of history.  It doesn't matter what I like - history is what it is and it isn't cool to try and change it.

(p.s. - you have a typo in your sig)

Meh fine if that's the way you want it.

It's too personalized. Too many "I this" and "I that".

Speaks for yourself and your own perspective of things. It's also not entirely true. Many people feel it's fine to have multiple edits of the works in question. They just want the original versions to be preserved in the best possible quality as well. It's a matter of preserving history not a matter of what is or isn't personal preference.

I know it's about the history of films and the culture of films, but i'm just stating why we want the originals. Plus, I know it's not cool to change movies and that some people could care less.

If this offends anyone or gives the wrong impression, then I'm sorry.

That IS why we want the originals (well, why I want the originals - I can't speak for everyone).

No offense taken... it just appeared as though you are trying to draft a message representing all of us.  As such, I thought you would want some input so that you could make sure it indeed represents the group as a whole.

p.s. - you actually have two typos in your sig - the first is a simple "the" instead of "they".  The second is some sort of incorrect html tag that makes the buttons at the bottom of your posts look strange.  I didn't even know that was possible :)

Oh, also, it's not exclusively the older forum members who prefer the originals.  Some of the most militantly anti-SE folks on this forum are under 20 years old.

sig looks better :)
