I'm Griff, I'm a filmmaker. Star Wars had a huge effect on me as a kid, and I credit it for inspiring me to make a career in film.
I'm eager to help Harmy with his Despecialized Edition, which I am endlessly inspired by, but have been told he tends to like to do things on his own. However, I was also told many of the sources in the Despecialized Edition use materials from other side projects, the kind that are done here.
So, if I can't help Harmy directly, I'd love to help somewhere else. I am at a professional level with Premiere Pro CS6, proficient in Photoshop, and also quickly learning After Effects. I also am familiar with audio design.
I just graduated High School on Friday and have the next few weeks free, so let's do this.
Where do I start?

I'm going to recommend reading Harmy's projects thread:
See if you can figure out it's proper name and as you read the thread you'll come across areas where Harmy is looking for help.
If you are looking to practice your pshop sfx skillz then probably the Fan Edit forum would be a place where you could get more requests for work. There tend to be lots of ideas but they come from people without the technical abilities.
and don't be surprised if this thread gets moved to a different forum.

Totally unrelated, except for the "volunteered services" part... but I've been looking for someone with technical skill to help me hone and release a refined version of my Fan Edit of The Phantom Menace, "The Phantom Hour". It is the whole film, condensed into a tight little hour long package that ties together neatly. I have a workprint I can get to you if you're interested. Not quite the preservationist dream... but maybe it's a start?
Just call me NSP 8)

None unfortunately, but I'm willing to learn!
Also, Empire Strikes Back is my favorite of the Star Wars films, so if there is any restoration work on that, I'm happy to help anyone who needs it!
