So what does HDNet show the movies at 1080i or 1080p?

Padawan LearnerLooks like they featured some cool flicks too .... Event Horizon, Predator. I guess this might be a cable decision for me when I get moved in to my new apartment. I also have to learn how to cap this stuff so maybe I can have some stuff for my own personal viewing pleasure ...... :)

Cable and satellite is usually pretty compressed, at least that's been my experience. I wonder of HDnet gets more bandwidth though. I guess we'll find out.

Padawan LearnerI don't know how they got a release year and special features details out of that one mention, but:
James Cameron has teased us for years that a True Lies Special Edition Blu-Ray was in the works but at last it’s been confirmed by Harry Tasker’s daughter, Eliza Dushku. While on Chris Hardwick’s The Nerdist program on BBC America, Dushku blurted out that she’d just finished participating in work on a True Lies commentary for the Blu-ray when asked by the host what she’s been up to. Look for the release next year along with many special features and those long-lost deleted scenes! 2014 just happens to be the 20th Anniversary for True Lies.

I do not think the Arnold fans is a credible source really.
Until Fox put out a press release, I think it's better to think of it as not coming soon, it's been 4 years since the rumours started!

Why are we doing detail comparisons on an "HDTVRip 1080p"? The original file is a 15GB 1080i.
That means absolutely nothing.
Sigh.
15GB 1080i vs 15GB 1080i -> unknown size HDTVRip 1080p
Gee, which is going to look better? The source or the one that is squished down from it?

Well done in taking my words out of context, and simply ignoring the rest of what I said.

The rest of what you said was utterly meaningless. We aren't comparing two files from different sources, we are comparing one source and the transcode of that source. There is no way to make a transcode more transparent than the file it's coming from.

Padawan LearnerIf I'm not mistaken, the only 2 sources dicussed were the DTheater and the HDTV. They are not the same.

As already said, two different sources dude. Which is why I was comparing the detail I could see in one of them.

Padawan LearnerAnyone noticed? A 720p WEB-DL of True Lies have appeared on usenet. I have no idea what source it is, it's official thought (all WEB-DL are official streams)

Dark Jedi KnightA small update on things, the Cinema DTS files provided from Jetrell Fo are in sync, but we are still working on the video, hopefully we will have that done soon so I can encode it and we still need the PCM ripped from the LD, just as soon as I get the LD, which Tranzor has provided, so a huge thanks for that and then I will send off that LD and Suspiria for the bit perfect PCM rips.
OH and we still need to figure out what extras we will for sure be using, but it is looking like this will be a BD25 release.
