Padawan LearnerI'm going to be asking the moderators to close this thread so it won't get confused with the new one. Dark_Jedi has taken the lead on this project and will be making sure people get updated as work progresses.
Thanks to everyone who participated here. It lead to finding the best possible DTheater video source to work with. Thanks to DoomBot for dropping by and giving the heads up. Thanks to everyone else for the suggestions. It may have been a short lived thread but something nice is going to be coming out of it.
Rock ON everyone .......

But you have the lead on the audio, so hopefully you share the 6 tracks with someone or somewhere, if not this will be absent, for now the only audio options will be what I have in hand.
I thank you to DoomBot, at least you got things rolling!

Padawan LearnerI can only decode the audio reels separately, with either the 5 channel configuration or the 6 channel one (which includes the LFE). Bringing all the WAV files together and synching them is not my forte. I am only beginning to learn stuff about that.
Now, getting them out is a different story. I would have to mail them to you as my free internet connection does not have enough umph for solid uploading. If you are good with that pm me with your address so I can get things moving on my end.

I thought the True Lies DTheater was widescreen/letterboxed .... would the 1080p lose the black bars above and below the picture or aren't there any?

Just wanted to point some things out so everybody is prepared that this won't be a perfect release either, though we'll do our best of course!
First of all, this one just like T2 has some severely crushed whites. They're lost and no way to bring them back.
Then there's also some smearing present which is in the source. Check this shot DJ posted:
Look at the guy on the far right in the background and you'll see that there are two of him. This is not as visible in motion though, but I wanted to point it out just so you know it's in the source and can't be fixed.
EDIT: Actually this scene was fixed by DJ's IVTC/deinterlacing script but some scenes still have some smearing or blending.

I am ready for the trials!you guys aware of the R6 DVD from China with DTS 6.1 audio?
not sure if that would help?

The DTS 6.1 might sound good but I do not have it and it is very hard trying to hunt down old DVD's and such especially from other Countries, hell I am having 1 hell of a time finding files for Suspiria, but I think the 3 options that I will have thanks to Jetrell Fo for the Cinema DTS tracks, will be plenty but I still do not have the True Lies LD audio ripped.

It was mixed for 5.1 and it was and still is a showpiece, a single rear would destroy most of the panning of the soundstage
Movin' in slow motion, it feels so good

I used to have it. I must have thrown it out, I guess. Unless I threw it in a closet somewhere.

Sorry if this is obvious, but have you checked the histogram to see if there are any pixels with luma in the 236-255 range? On occasion, there is detail in this range that gets clipped for display, but can be recovered by reducing the white level.

I always try recovering as much as possible but here it's a lot of 255-whites where there should be more detail. It was pretty much the same with T2.

Padawan LearnerI still have my DVHS recorded Cable broadcast. 1.78:1 open matted and more detail vs the 2.35:1 DTheater DVHS release, which was DNR'd/filtered. Moron studios.
Unfortunately, the 5.1 on the DTheater is far better than the 5.1 on the Cable broadcast.
I'm just hoping for a Blu-Ray thatgets it right. But it'll probably be turned teal.

So you have yet a better copy, is there anyway you can get it off the DVHS of yours to use for this project?

James Cameron has also said he might wanna convert T2 to 3D.
And considering the direction he's going nowadays, this is about what I expect from those releases:

You mean you have an open matte version in full HD? If so, we'd love if you could provide us with that version instead for this project.
