The Wild Life?

Has anyone done anything with this film? Never released on dvd or Blu.

Cameron Crowe film. Very 80's.

I see there is a full screen LD, but that's it.

Has there ever been an HD broadcast?

There is a DVDR floating around. Source unknown. Possibly TV?

Not perfect, by any means, but quite passable. Also contains the original sountrack.

...wow!

Is it on the usual sites?

Forget about the DVDR above.  I found on Usenet recently a 1080i HDTV version and burned it as an AVCHD to a DVD9.  It looks great on my HDTV.

Edit:  PM me for details.

The changes that George Lucas has made over the years to Star Wars is the equivalent of someone keying your car. On an intellectual level, you know that the car still works, and its only marred a fraction of a percent of the paintjob. On an emotional level, every time you see it, it's all you can focus on, and it makes you want to rip someone's face off.

Cinemax HD has broadcast it in the past... had it on my dvr 3 or 4 years ago.  It's sort of the pseudo sequel to Fast Times.  Art Linson and Cameron Crowe reteamed with the intention to continue the stories of the Fast Times characters but they couldn't get Sean Penn, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Phoebe Cates to return.  They got Chris Penn instead and though it doesn't rank up there with Fast Times, it's still a pretty good movie.  Eddie Van Halen did the score and he's the problem.  He has tied up the music rights for years.  I think most of his riffs for the film were the basis for the 5150 album and he considers them a rough version that he doesn't want out there.  That's why there's no DVD or Blu-ray as yet.

Hey guys, just an update.  Unfortunately the file on Usenet is missing a very large number of blocks and even QuickPar could not repair it.  If anyone has the 1080i HDTV broadcast intact and would be kind enough to share it or burn it, that effort would be greatly appreciated for the fans of this lost gem.  Many thanks in advance if anyone can help.
