Just to chime in here - 'Raiders' was a little altered on DVD, beyond the obvious plexiglass reflection digital touch-up.
Additionally, matte lines were removed in the heavy SFX scenes, and the guide track that the boulder rolled down on was digitally removed as it was visible in the original.
The sound mix was the biggest change, and while not a hack job like 'Star Wars' was, it still is different from the theatrical release. I prefer the DVD mix as the bass has been amped up considerably. The boulder sounds huge now. I am also a purist, so I still have the 'Raiders' laserdisc with the original sound mix.

Then you must know the sound of the staff being dropped into the map room is different on the widescreen LD then any other mix.
The DVD 5.1 track was derived from the 6 track 70mm mix. I'm not aware of any changes, and that ramped up bass may be the way the 6 track sounded. I've read of people seeing this recently in 70mm and stunned by the amounot of bass.
Thanks for helping with these, I now only have a few hours to go on these, as opposed to 44 hours.

Looks like this is something of an urban myth. The only thing I can find thats solid is 24 cuts from Temple Of Doom in the UK, although the only scene mentioned is the removal of the heart in the cage scene. Ive got a Laserdisc on the way, so Ill try to find out with that.

Ok, Just to clarify, I have just got my NTSC Laserdisc copy of Temple Of Doom, and for the first time in 21 years, finally seen the full uncut version. I was amazed how much was actually cut, as normally its only a few seconds, but I can now confirm what UK fans have been missing out on.
I have uploaded both UK, and US versions of the scene on Demonoid for you to compare. Interestingly enough, when I ripped the scene from my UK boxset, I noticed that the disc name was INDIANAJONES_TOD_UKCENSOR.
The deleted scene adds so much more to the movie, Im sure that US people on watching the cut version will be amazed aswell as the UK'ers!

I wasn't planning on doing it but I'm sure someone else would if they wanted to. I have no problem with it.
One other thing...
Work has been started on The Game and I'm going to give it another week to get it done. All the extra material has been ripped. I just have to get to work on it. I'll even post the preliminary artwork soon.

Well, kids...
Looks like I might be holding off on The Game. The BBFC just approved all the extras from the Criterion set for release on DVD in the UK. I'm sure the US will get something soon as well. I may just postpone to see if they include all of the extras. *sigh*
So annoying after I've already put the work into it. But at least we'll have a great official release.

that sucks, i haven't seen that movie in so long i was looking foward to it! i actually like these fan preservations better than official releases for some reason, but i'm all for giving the studios money so they will continue to make movies...

Oh my lord, The Game looks sweet. It's been languishing on barebones DVD for too long, and that's a lot of enticing bonus material. However one could obtain a copy of it, I would thoroughly dig it.

DVD. I got a copy of the Japanese disc which is the only 16x9 version out there. I'll have the original 5.1 track on there as well since (at the moment) there is no 16x9 version of it around. This will be the definitive version of the movie until they decide to release an official one. It will also be dual-layered (the first disc). Second disc is already done and is single layered. I didn't want to release that first becuase I figured people would want both discs together. I will try to get it done ASAP.

Update:
Almost done. Just working on the sync for the video and audio of the first disc. Once that's done, both discs are done. Menus are completed, just have to plug them in and finish authoring. I'm hoping to have it up tomorrow night unless the sync turns into more of a problem than it should be.
