How many Hammer horror fans are out there.
I know Lee from those as well as the actor who Tarkin.
I also Remember Lee as Scaramanga from the man with the golden gun starring Roger Moore as james bond.
And probably the second most famous dracula. Next to Bela Lugosie.
These days they honorary knight just about anyone, so it is almost meaningless.
Didn't they knight Elton John?

Seriosly. Some pop singer gets it before the most prolific film actor of ALL TIME... who was also British Secret Intelligence during the war, and I beleive he assassinated Hitler. The man's a treasure dammit.

Daah! I hate to see great actors referred to as, "the guy who played..." Tarkin was portrayed by the late great Peter Cushing. Tarkin was one of my favorite, if not my absolute favorite characters in the entirety of the SW trilogy. When Hasbro finally made a Tarkin action figure in the nineties, I purchased him without hesitation. Now that was a great villian! Plain as day evidence that the PT were dealt a foul hand when it came to villians. Lee's Dooku could have been a pretty good villian, but lets just face it, he wasn't!
Lee totally kicked ass as Scaramanga in The Man with the Golden Gun. He is also my all time favorite Bond villian.

Huh, I was unaware of these later to facts. Surely you'd think the man who assassinated Hitler deserved knighthood long ago. ;) Though Elton John is no mere pop singer! Rocket Man is perhaps the greatest song ever to exist!
