Barry Lyndon versus Jaws?

No contest. Even though they are two completely different types of movie and I adore both: Jaws is no Barry Lyndon.

Had to update my list, because lack of Braveheart.

The only good Braveheart is lack of Braveheart.

I liked it, so...

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won't last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you'll be able to project it on a 20' by 40' screen with perfect quality. I think it's the director's prerogative, not the studio's to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

I seriously hope I will live enough to see the original Star Wars trilogy in this quality
You will not. None of us will, except for a very old and dying Ziggy Stardust who will watch it through teary eyes as he remembers us all.

^ You like Forrest Gump, your argument is invalid.

But seriously, I still don't completely understand all the Gump hate.

The only reasons (for the dislikeage) I've heard so far are:

1. Zemickis is a hack and Tom Hanks didn't try hard enough

2. The President scenes are dated.

3. It doesn't take itself very seriously.

None of those reasons really seem to cut it for me.

I guess I just need to read some 1 star reviews to be more informed, but until then, I still like it.

C'mon, it's not like I think The Hangover is the best movie ever made or anything.

Super 8 has replaced Source Code, and Jaws has reclaimed 1975, after Barry Lyndon held the spot for a long time.

In the 2008 slot, Wall-E has been replaced by The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

Der Untergang?  I never thought I'd meet anyone else who'd seen that movie and actually enjoyed it.  Props Zig, both good choices.
