On the down side, IIRC there are some continuity problems and sloppiness to the additions in the official cuts that ADM smoothed out.

I am pretty certain ADM's versions came out long before the official extended cuts and were removed from fanedit.org for that reason, but you are right that only the first two are out.  3 and 4 are coming soon though.

I didn't mean to imply ADM took the official extended version and improved on it.

I meant when ADM incorporated the deleted scenes, he just did a better job of it than they did.  (For that reason I really believe some lowlevel hack added the scenes for TV and that it is not a 'Director's Cut'.)

Man, I really hope that is true that ADM is working on a Half-Blood Prince extended edition! His other HP extended editions are all in a box set of mine waiting to be complete! :)

Whenever we watch want to watch Harry here, we always pop in ADM's versions, because they feel more complete. I was worried that he stopped making them. So yeah, I am greatly looking forward to Half-Blood Prince extended, as well as Deathly Hallows (1 & 2) in the future!

Thanks for all the hard work adigitalman!

Oooh, maybe we'll get a Deathly Hollows extended and cut together into a single 6 hour film or something... wait am I getting too far ahead?

I was thinking the same thing! :)

A cut together, extended, 6 hour Deathly Hallows would be epic!

Is ADM not okay or just retired?

There's a new Harry Potter in theaters and HBP never got the extended treatment.

I actually have 3 updated(new versions)of previous edits he has done but forgot to go over them, I need to do that.

Of course, R2-6 received this version of the film in PAL format and have been subjected to the usual PAL speedup issues.
Retiming 25fps to 23.976 during encoding is actually quite easy -- here's an example involving the encoding tool AutoMKV 0.98.4:

(Assume you've ripped the PAL DVD and have a single large 25fps MPEG2 or VOB file prepped and ready for final encoding.

* click the Advanced Profiles Editing tab, and look center-right

* for Change FPS, adjust the two associated boxes from "NONE" to, respectively, "Assume FPS" and "24000,1001".

-- That's it! (Set everything else up as you were going to anyway, and encode.)

If this needs to be an as-lossless-as-possible step in a sequence, select AVI/XVID with a Constant Quality profile and a Quantitizer of 1 -- this will result in a large, barely-compressed high-quality file.

I don't know if we should expect anything more from ADM in the Harry Potter series, but has anyone had the opportunity to check out if there is worth while deleted content on Deathly Hallows 1?

I've been sort of holding back on this title since I have the weird feeling that well see an official Deathly Hallows 'Whole Bloody Affair' sort of thing talked about in the near future.

Edit: And hoping to not be TOO off topic, if no one else is going to tackle Half-Blood Prince, I've been thinking I'd start putting together an extended edition later this week.

Don't expect menus (unless someone wants to volunteer some), and I'm not sure I'm even going to do a DVD9 release (unless there is serious demand for it).

I've heard that Yates has stated that there was roughly 45 minutes cut from the fifth film, yet the deleted scenes only amount up to about 7 extra minutes of footage.

I'm guessing that there's a lot more cut from the first four as well as 6-8 as well, and I really hope that WB releases these scenes.

Barring the final film, which without credits fell under 2 hours, I'm assuming that 1-7 all would theoretically have 3+ hour runtimes, which the later films really need considering how much was cut out

This is what I'm talking about.  The first few aren't as significant, but there are some interesting scenes here.

From GOF, there's quite a few smaller details that would be fun to see added in, but there's also Dumbledore's explanation of Priori Incantantem, as well as Harry pondering Voldemort's return in front of a waterfall.

OOTP just has too many too mention.

Here's some more from HBP.  Some of these are featured in the deleted scenes from the DVD, but some are not.

Lots taken out from DH1, Krum, extended Scrimgeour scene, Harry finding Lily's Letter (!!), Ron's growing tension, and I'm sure there's more

I would be interested in an edit that reordered the scenes and made it into one film.

The problem is what would you cut and or add?

There's a few of these I would like to d/l but I am not finding anything anywhere.  I tried that Jloader thinger over on fanedit.org but it didn't do anything (I tried something that I figured would be popularly seeded, too (the new Star Wars Renascent edit).  Any help?  I'l looking for the ADM versions of Elf, Love Actually, Halloween and the Austin Powers trilogy.

Most of the ADM links are dead according to several conversations on FE.org. I know there are some that will be re-upped but I don't know exactly which ones.

Does ADM's edit of 'Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery' use the censored US version or the uncut UK version as a base? They did a couple edits to it for the US release, and I live in the US. Check movie-censorship.com if you don't believe me.

Happy new year folks.  Still busy in the day job, but did some HD editing for my own sanity over the holidays.  I have Wiz of Oz and HP6 completed in 1080p.  I finished Superman Returns in 1080p a couple of years ago but never released it.  I'm contemplating adding in the Return to Krypton scene now that it resurfaced before it ever gets seen.  I haven't invested in the 1080p Superman Boxed Set yet.

I miss the time I used to have to do this and hang out with all of you guys.  I'm hopeful that may change one day soon.  Time will tell.

Until then, keep editing, keep watching, and keep hoping for better stuff!

p.s. I used the U.S. version of Austin Powers on all 3 films.

Okay, guess I'll just import the UK version then. I don't need to watch it extended.

A couple questions for you about HPB since I have a mostly completed extended edit I was working on.

Did you color correct the deleted scenes?  They don't match the scenes in the film.

Also, did you fix the scene that was split to cover up the deleted scene with Harry/Hermione discussing the Marauder's map?

In the theatrical cut, in order to hide that a scene was deleted, the editor cut a scene in half and moved the first part before Harry finds Ron mooning for Romilda and the rest following the scene.  It's actually quite awkward and the script confirms this change.

Cheers for the great work dude, your edits always stood out to me as being total quality. I can't wait to experience the HD-ADM edits!  :)
