RE: The 2011 OT.com Fantasy Baseball League

I'm all for one league only.  Makes it a little more of a challenge. I have to work a lot harder at finding the people to build with.

Which league?  Aren't we NL heavy here for our real home teams?

Me - Astros

Frink - Cubs

Warbler - Phillies

Ripplin - ?

Sluggo - Cubs

For some reason I thought we had two Cubs fans on the board.

I don't remember if Sluggo has a team.  I don't think it's the Cubs if he does.

If we went one league only I was going to suggest a vote.  It would probably result in NL-only, which would be fine with me.  Better pitching, anyway. ;-)

You mean as we all prepare to part-out the Phillies?  ;-)

True dat.

Why was I thinking Sluggo is an Angels fan?   Does that ring a bell?

I guess I'm in.   But how would a one league only league work?   Would stats from inter-league play count?  What happens if a player on one of our teams gets traded to the other league?

I don't care if it's AL or NL. Too bad we couldn't have some sort of half-and-half, though. They need to make a third league just for us.

Pretty sure all your player stats count, including interleague.  All it means is you can only draft players from one league.

Trades can be handled a few ways, but I can't remember specifics right now.  All ideas can be discussed.

Now that you mention it, we may have had a west coast guy.

Ok guys, league is ready, I did NL-only for now.  Other settings should be the same as last year.  Draft tentatively scheduled for Sat Mar 26 8pm MDT.

You should all be getting invites from yahoo if you still have the same email address.  Let me know if you don't get one.

I got an invite. However, when I follow it, all I see is...

"There is not room in this league if all teams from last year return. To join, get the commissioner to increase the maximum number of teams, or remove teams that will not be returning. (Error #638)"

*shrug*

I got the email and re-registered.

Frink, you say that draft is scheduled for Mar 26 8PM, but according the email I got from the league, it says the draft is Mar 26 10PM.

It should have been sent to whatever email you gave to yahoo.  Are you checking the right account?

Ok, reminder time.

Draft is this Saturday, March 26th, at 10pm EST

Mock drafts are available here:

http://baseball.fantasysports.yahoo.com/b1/124439/mock_lobby

Here's a clarification about the rules regarding trades and our NL-only league:

http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/sports/fantasysports/baseball/season/baseball-46.html;_ylt=Ai7Jcnu0YfgFYdqv2rroZjlh1HhG

Apparently there is no way to change this.  If your NL player gets traded to the AL, you're out of luck, and if an AL player is traded to the NL, he goes on waivers.  We can of course discuss how to handle waiver priority if you want to do it different than last year.

Any other questions, especially regarding the NL only restriction, please ask here.

Why or how would a player in our NL-only league even get traded to the AL? *scratching head* Will we have access to AL players anyway?

Cardinals go into the tank.  They don't want to risk losing Pujols for nothing in free agency, so they trade him to the Angels.

Boom - he's now an AL player.  Whomever in our league owns him will no longer get credit for his stats.

Dang it!  You got my hopes up until I realized you were talking hypothetically.
